Josslyn raised an eyebrow, shooting another calculating look at Vivienne. "You know them?"

A large group of guys and girls piled out of the cars behind Preston. Many of them were classmates from their elite academy.

Preston stepped forward, casually patting Josslyn on the shoulder. "We all run in the same circles. Don't scare them off."

Josslyn knew Preston's personality inside and out. The guy never stuck his nose into other people's business unless there was a damn good reason. If Preston was stepping in, one of these girls had to be someone important. Josslyn's eyes darted between Vivienne and Mina, his mind racing.

Vivienne turned around and pulled Mina close, her glare lethal. "Let go of her."

Not daring to cross her after the name-drop, the guy holding Mina sheepishly let go and backed away.

Mina was completely lost in her own drunken world. The second she saw Vivienne's face again, she erupted into fresh tears. "What am I going to do?! I'm ruined! My life is over! It's an absolute tragedy!"

"Shut up." Vivienne clamped a hand over Mina's mouth. No one here was to be trusted. If this idiot spilled her family secret right now, she would know what a true tragedy felt like.

Kael Kenyon strolled forward with a wide grin. "Well, well, look at little Mina all trashed. What are you two doing getting drunk on the side of the road in the middle of the night? Boy trouble?"

Vivienne gave him a brutal eye roll. As she turned her head, she froze. Julianne Whitmore was bending down to pick up the DNA report that had fallen to the ground.

*Crap.* She had been so focused on saving Mina from getting grabbed that she forgot the envelope.

There was no time to think. Vivienne unceremoniously shoved Mina straight into Josslyn's arms, shoved her way through the crowd, and marched right up to the steps. "Who gave you permission to touch someone else's property?" Without missing a beat, she violently snatched the papers right out of Julianne's hands.

Julianne tried to pull away but was too slow. She stared at Vivienne with narrowed, suspicious eyes.

She had caught a glimpse of the word 'Hospital' printed at the top. Judging by how completely unhinged Vivienne was acting, whatever was inside had to be incredibly damaging.

Sensing blood in the water, Julianne deliberately raised an eyebrow, her tone dripping with venom. "Why so tense? Got some dirty little secret hiding in there?"

Vivienne didn't even dignify her with a response. She spun around and pulled Mina back from a deeply confused Josslyn.

Furious at being ignored, Julianne exploded. "I saw what it was! It's an Abortion Clinic Receipt!"
