She still couldn't stop worrying about Sophia. Since Vivienne wasn't taking action for now, she decided to get some intel from Preston first.
Mina took her invitation and headed straight to the arts building.
Because of the welcome party, The Eden Club was packed with people today. It was a mixed bag, and many veteran players looking for novelty had already started scouting for targets in the crowd. Mina held The VIP Pass in her hand, and those with a sharp eye quickly steered clear of her.
Mina walked completely unimpeded. Once she stepped into the VIP area, the crowd thinned out significantly, and most of the people there were familiar faces.
"Hey! Isolde, don't push your luck! Do you know how expensive this dress is? We kindly lent it to you, and you ruined it? What are you going to do about it?"
The name sounded familiar, causing Mina to stop in her tracks and look over.
Around a circular black sofa, a group of people had surrounded a girl. The atmosphere was clearly volatile.
Isolde looked past the crowd and immediately spotted Mina. Her eyes lit up as she pushed through the throng and grabbed Mina's hand.
"Please, help me."
They were all familiar faces. The lead girl looked a bit unnatural. "Miss Blackthorne."
Mina glanced at Isolde. "Did you do this willingly?"
Isolde shook her head.
The lead girl hesitated for a moment, holding up the evening gown in her hand. "She ruined this. We're just asking for compensation."
Mina asked, "How much?"
"Miss Blackthorne, please don't make this difficult for us."
Mina nodded. "Fine. Then tell Kael to ask my brother for it." With that, she grabbed Isolde and dragged her out of the crowd.
Once they were out of The Eden Club, Mina irritably pressed the elevator button. "I told you to be smart. If you don't use your brain, you won't be this lucky next time."
Isolde's eyes were full of gratitude. "Thank you for helping me."
Mina couldn't be bothered to respond. She still had to find Preston. When the elevator doors opened, she tipped her chin toward the inside. "Hurry up and go."
Isolde glanced at her cautiously, wanting to say something but getting scared back by Mina's coldness. In the end, she obediently stepped into the elevator.
"Ding—"
A second before the elevator doors slowly closed, a hand reached out from inside.
"I'm sorry, I know this is highly inappropriate, but I have one more favor to ask."
