Time flew by, and soon it was the day of Caspian's departure for Solenforth.
Obsidian Estate was bustling with activity. Everyone was present, save for Dorian and Cyril.
This trip to Solenforth wasn't just to resolve the incident in Merriton City, but also to provide an explanation for Balthazar's death. To ensure smooth peace talks, the two countries had scheduled a full two weeks for negotiations.
Since his semi-retirement, Caspian rarely left the port for such a long period. He knew full well that none of the older generation in the family were reliable, so to prevent any disasters, he gave stern warnings to each of them one by one.
After lecturing the older ones, he moved on to the younger ones. Alaric, Vivienne, and Aurelia didn't escape his scolding either.
Silvercrest Hall.
Heath was packing Julian's luggage for the trip abroad.
"Sir, I heard Solenforth is even colder than Athelvia. I've prepared a few warm coats for you, and this scarf—make sure you wear it when you get off the plane."
Julian had his legs crossed, staring blankly at the ceiling.
Heath was filled with complicated emotions. Since he came back, Julian had just been lying in Silvercrest Hall, completely ignoring him. If he had known that the aphrodisiac would drive a wedge between master and servant, he never would have told Matriarch Cavanaugh that Julian wanted a woman.
In an attempt to win back Julian's favor, Heath pulled out all the stops, acting exceptionally attentive. "Sir, here is a compilation of all the photoshoots I saved for you. This visit will be closely watched by both countries. Since you're so handsome, you'll definitely cause a sensation."
Still no response.
Heath was burning with anxiety. He looked around and opened the glass display cabinet. "You're so precious, Sir, you probably won't be used to the things in Solenforth. I'll pack all your personal items, including the hand cream."
As soon as the words left his mouth, the person on the bed shot up. Before Heath could react, the hand cream in his hand vanished.
"Who said you could touch this?"
Julian acted as if he had grabbed a hot potato, and without thinking, he threw it straight out the window.
After throwing it, he remained silent for a few seconds, then stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked out of the room.
Heath looked utterly bewildered. Once he snapped out of it, he immediately chased after him, only to be bewildered once again as soon as he stepped into the courtyard.
"Sir..."
It was a wintery November, right when the Snowball Hydrangeas were in full bloom.
Under the lush, clustered white-green hydrangeas, the young man bent down to pick up the very complex he had just discarded, carefully hiding it away.
No one else was allowed to touch it.
