A moment later, Alaric finally regained his composure and stepped out of the car.
The daytime port was bustling with traffic. Alaric scanned the crowd before his gaze landed back on Cyril.
"I have some business to handle, so I won't be heading back with you."
"Alright. See you later, Alaric." Cyril didn't press for details and got into the car with a mild smile.
Lennox carefully observed Cyril through the rearview mirror. "Where to, Boss?"
Cyril's expression remained unreadable. "The municipal building."
"Yes, sir." Lennox quietly sighed in relief, seeing that his boss wasn't overtly angry.
The municipal building was also just a ten-minute drive from the port. It was a straight shot with a few easy right turns. This time, every turn was flawless. Lennox handled the steering wheel with silky precision.
Cyril didn't say a word. He just rested his chin on his hand, watching the scenery roll by.
The car pulled smoothly into the government complex. Lennox unbuckled his seatbelt, ready to open the door, when a casual question floated from the backseat.
"Lennox, who do you work for?"
"Huh?" Lennox blinked, caught off guard. He looked back blankly. "Boss, I work for you, of course."
"Me? My man drives like that?"
Was the boss questioning his driving skills?
"..." Cyril stared at Lennox in silence for three seconds before the gentle smile returned to his eyes. "You're still in contact with Wesley?"
Lennox nodded. "All of us from the same training camp are in a group chat. He posts pictures of his abs all the time."
"Call him," Cyril instructed. "Ask him where he is right now."

"Me? I'm fishing at the port. Wanna join?"
Wesley was busy scouring the docks for someone when he picked up the phone.
