Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 617

She didn't love herself enough?

Mina looked up, staring blankly at Vivienne.

The weight of those words felt like a single autumn leaf falling into a well brimming with rainwater. The water had been perfectly level, maintaining a precarious balance. The leaf was light, but the moment it touched the surface, the balance shattered, and the water spilled over the edge.

"If the Blackthorne family forgives Isolde," Vivienne asked, "would you forgive her?"

Mina shook her head. "I don't want to forgive her."

"Right. You already have your answer. Why are you so afraid to tell your grandfather?"

Mina let out a bitter laugh, murmuring to herself. "Yeah, why am I afraid to tell Grandfather? Because I'm scared again. I'm scared he'll think I'm being unreasonable. I'm scared my decision will make things difficult for everyone."

"Which is exactly why the person you don't love enough is yourself."

Vivienne paused, hesitating briefly before speaking her true thoughts. "Honestly... you have every right to dislike Isolde and refuse to forgive her. That's your choice. No one has the right to preach to you about it. If you can't process your emotions right now, and you can't calmly sacrifice your own happiness just to keep the peace for others, then stop worrying about them. Focus on making yourself happy first."

"Stop worrying about them?"

Vivienne nodded. "Remember what I told you when I fired that gun? Mina, stop running away."

Mina's scattered emotions began to solidify. She started to think.

Looking at the entire conflict between her and Isolde, she had been wrong from the very beginning. If she had possessed the courage to face the truth of their identities, or the confidence to accept whatever choice the Blackthornes made, she and Isolde would never have reached this breaking point.

She cared far too much about whether her grandfather, father, mother, and brother loved her. That desperation for love had bred her fear.

"I think I understand."

Mina turned to look at the endless expanse of the ocean. "Anyone else's love for me is dependent on time, space, and circumstances. The only love that depends entirely on me is my love for myself. So, if I want to find true happiness and true love, pleasing myself is enough..."

Mina smiled, her eyes shimmering with tears as she looked at Vivienne. "Right?"

The penthouse suite was permanently closed to the public. Right now, from the lobby to the hallways, every exit was guarded by Alaric's men. From the linen room across the hall, agonizing screams echoed sporadically.

"Boss, he's inside. Hawke is still working on him."

Alaric nodded, his gaze fixed straight ahead as he bypassed the living area and stopped in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Merriton City was built along the coastline. From almost any high-rise downtown, you could see the port.

Alaric checked the time. It was ten in the morning.

About half an hour later, a broad-shouldered young man walked out of the room.

"Boss."

Wesley grabbed a hot towel from a bamboo basket on the coffee table and tossed it to him. The man caught it and began wiping the blood from his hands and face.
