Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 639

"Hahahahaha!"

For three years, the Whitmores had been relentlessly suppressed by the Ravenshires. It had been a long time since such joyous laughter echoed through the main hall.

"To think an entire family's survival now relies on a little girl trying to prove her purity... The Blackthornes' reputation is thoroughly ruined," Gideon laughed, completely ecstatic.

Mina agreeing to a media interview was indeed a sudden and magnificent stroke of luck for the Whitmores, but Frederick remained somewhat skeptical.

"The girl said this herself?"

Gideon nodded. "Yes. She said if she doesn't clear her name, her life is over. She's just a kid. She hasn't seen the real world, so of course she thinks the sky is falling. God is truly on our side. We have to give her a little push during tomorrow's press conference and make sure the whole country tunes in."

Damien raised his teacup. "Congratulations, Gideon. Once the Blackthornes fall, it's about time your position as Chief Superintendent of the Police Department got an upgrade."

Gideon raised his cup in return. "I owe this entirely to your planning, Damien. Come, a toast."

Damien smiled faintly. "You're too kind."

"Don't celebrate too early, you two." Frederick turned to Damien. "What is the Ravenshire family saying?"

"The Obsidian Estate has been entirely silent," Damien replied. "The Blackthornes are completely surrounded, and Dorian is focused on reclaiming the cabinet's power. It's the perfect time for him to win back the people's trust, so he won't stick his neck out right now. As for that old bastard... our informant says he rejected all domestic calls. It seems he has no intention of wading into this mess."

At the mention of the Ravenshires, all trace of a smile vanished from Frederick's face. "Hmph. That old bastard Caspian. One day, I'll make him pay back the humiliation we suffered at the Obsidian Estate a hundredfold."

A cold, predatory glint flashed in Damien's eyes as his hand rested on his knee, quietly rubbing his crippled leg.

The next day, top officials from the Supreme Prosecutor's Office arrived at the Blackthorne estate in highly publicized fashion. A ten-car convoy of special police escorted Sterling to the prosecutor's headquarters. By afternoon, he still hadn't returned.

The entire Blackthorne family gathered anxiously in the main hall.

Theron didn't waste a second. He snatched the remote off the coffee table.

The screen flashed to life. The word "LIVE" glaring in the top right corner of the Stormhollow broadcast channel was agonizingly bright. Mina sat squarely in front of the cameras wearing a red wool coat. Under the blinding flashbulbs, she looked exactly like Little Red Riding Hood wandering blindly into a forest of wolves.

"I invited the media here today to clarify one thing..."

At that exact moment, people from entirely different factions were sitting in front of their televisions, screens, and phones.

The Whitmores, the Garlands, the Montclairs, the Cavanaughs, the Everharts, the Keatings...

Every single one of them was mocking the girl's naivety.

The greatest trap of the adult world was letting children believe that people actually cared about the truth. How many people watching truly cared whether Mina was innocent? All they cared about was the profit they could extract from the fallout.

In an exclusive VIP club, a group of high-society heirs partying out of their minds froze, staring at the screen in utter shock.
