Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 64

As soon as the housekeeper left the room, Vivienne's obedient smile vanished. She shot up from the bed like a spring.

That manipulative snake, Cyril. Good thing she had a trick up her sleeve, or his scheme would have succeeded.

In the original storyline, there was no streamside lobster boil tonight.

After she had returned from her trip, the entire dynamic at the Ravenshire estate had shifted. In just two short months, Cyril had completely won over the old man's heart. Whenever Caspian mentioned him, it was always with the same two phrases: so sensible, and so pitiful.

It was only later that Vivienne heard the reason from Isabella.

That manipulative bastard Cyril, knowing full well he couldn't eat seafood, ate the lobster his grandfather personally peeled for him at a family dinner, just so he wouldn't disappoint the old man. When his allergic reaction kicked in later, he suffered through the night alone in his room. If Victor from Blackbriar Wing hadn't found him in time and called Dr. Cole, he might have died.

Afterward, when his grandfather asked him why he didn't call for help, his excuse was that he didn't want to trouble anyone or worry his grandfather.

Damn him! Upon hearing that, the old man had wanted to slap himself, waking up from nightmares for several nights in a row, consumed with guilt.

That manipulative bastard, trying to use the same trick to win Grandpa's sympathy!

Luckily, she was quick-witted. The moment Cedric said the old man was inviting everyone to camp by the back hills, she was on guard for Cyril to pull the same stunt. She specifically had the housekeeper get the special anti-allergy medication from Dr. Cole and slipped it into Cyril's water when he wasn't looking.

Vivienne dived back into her covers, a grin stretching from ear to ear.

"What goes around, comes around, and I'm your karma. Just as I thought, the younger version of Cyril is much easier to deal with."

Round two: a tactical victory!

Vivienne wrapped herself into a blanket burrito and rolled around happily on the bed.

Blackbriar Wing.

The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silver veil over the windowsill. The evening breeze, accompanied by the low chirping of summer insects, drifted through the half-open window on the second floor.

Cyril's eyelids fluttered, and he slowly looked up. His cold eyes were slightly groggy. As he became more alert, he finally realized something was wrong. He frowned and sat up, rubbing his forehead.

What was happening? There was no pain as he'd expected, no burning sensation twisting his gut.

[Reward: The Pen of Narrative.]

[Bind to the current character—'The Little Stray'?]

Heartbeat Arc? What's that?

Vivienne looked disgusted. "Who's the 'Little Stray'?"

The green fluorescence slowly gathered, and a line of text materialized in the darkness.

—[Treasure plot. Explore freely.]

Seriously? Vivienne scoffed. "Then what's the Pen of Narrative?"

—[The Pen of Narrative can generate new plotlines or rewrite fated plotlines according to the user's will.]

"What!" Vivienne was instantly wide awake, her eyes shining. "Does that mean I can use the Pen of Narrative to rewrite Grandpa's ending?"
