At her words, Dorian's eye twitched violently. He turned to Caspian. "Dad..."
Caspian raised a hand to silence him and stood up. "I'll go see her."
The entire family's expressions shifted drastically. They exchanged nervous glances and stood up in unison. Caspian waved them down. "Sit."
As Caspian walked out of the Main Hall, Dorian's unease deepened into sheer panic. His eyes darted across the faces of the people across from him. Who exactly was trying to destroy him?

Vellmont Lodge.
Vivienne was leaning over the windowsill, gazing out. Seeing a group approaching with lanterns swaying under the corridor, she immediately vaulted through the window.
The moment Caspian pushed open the gates of Vellmont Lodge, a figure launched herself at him.
"Grandpa!"
"Oof, careful now." Caspian's eyes crinkled with doting affection. He took Vivienne's hand and led her into the courtyard parlor. Marissa quickly rushed to prepare tea, while Cedric and Jasper followed them inside to assist.
"Did you call Grandpa over because you have something to tell me?"
Vivienne broke into a massive grin. "I really can't hide anything from you. Grandpa, thank god you had the foresight to set up a separate defense for me! You were absolutely right—the strategy we prepared was leaked!"
Her expression suddenly turned dead serious. Looking left and right, she covered her mouth and whispered, "Grandpa, there's a thief in the house."
Caspian's eyes gleamed as he played along. "You performed flawlessly at the trial. You certainly didn't let Grandpa down."
Vivienne smiled knowingly, pointing a finger through the air. "Grandpa, the thief has to be Dorian. He even had a public disavowal statement ready in advance. It's obvious his heart isn't with you."
Cedric's brow twitched. He threw a meaningful glance at Jasper and quietly backed out of the room.
Jasper didn't react in the slightest, standing like an immovable gargoyle behind Caspian.

Back in the Main Hall, Dorian had already downed three cups of tea in rapid succession. Compared to everyone else's forced calm, the Council Speaker was visibly unraveling.
Alaric's eyes shifted slightly.
Caspian continued, his voice ringing with absolute authority. "Since you are all gathered here today, I will make myself perfectly clear. When I first brought her back, I delayed adding her to the family registry for other reasons—not so she could be discarded like garbage the second trouble arrived! I'm not even dead yet, and you dare treat her like this? If I were in the ground, would you drive her to her grave?"
Vivienne had originally just wanted to rile Dorian up, but hearing those words, she snapped her head toward Caspian in shock.
The color completely drained from everyone else's faces.
"Dad, you're exaggerating."
"Grandpa..." Bianca started to speak but was yanked back by Talia.
Caspian waved a dismissive hand. "Whether it's an exaggeration or not, the words have been spoken. God only knows how long my old bones have left. You all have your own agendas, and I see them perfectly."
With that, Caspian turned to Cedric, who immediately stepped forward and presented a stack of prepared documents.
"Take a look for yourselves."
