Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 725

A deafening crack of thunder shook the ground.

"Miss Lexton, Miss Aurelia, hold on a little longer! Once we cross The Covered Bridge up ahead, we'll be there."

The thunder roared louder, threatening to tear a hole in the night sky as the torrential rain swelled into a deluge.

Vivienne Lexton and Aurelia Ravenshire leaned on each other in their raincoats, not daring to lift their heads. The driving rain lashed against their faces, stinging worse than a harsh slap.

The group hurried across The Covered Bridge and finally arrived at the resort's Screening Room.

Wesley Crain led the two women toward the secret passage with familiar ease, not forgetting to instruct them along the way. "Miss Lexton, Miss Aurelia, you must remember this—do not open the door for anyone except Alaric."

Aurelia nodded and cast a quiet glance at Vivienne.

The secret passage had two sets of doors: a keypad-locked outer door and a blast-proof inner door.

A security camera monitored the outside, allowing anyone inside to see exactly who was knocking.

Wesley pressed the doorbell as agreed, but after a few moments of waiting, there was no response from inside.

The three of them exchanged heavy, uneasy looks.

It seemed they had underestimated human selfishness. Someone inside was likely terrified of drawing the attention of the armed attackers and refused to open the door.

Wesley's face darkened with anger. He pressed the doorbell again.

A full minute passed. Still nothing.

Wesley reached out to try again, but Aurelia stopped him. "Forget it. We already have our answer. Why force their hand?"

Her words dripped with sharp irony.

Vivienne didn't care. In her past life, after being kicked out of Obsidian Estate, she had seen enough of the cold, cruel nature of humanity.

These insignificant people couldn't stir a single emotion in her. Instead of wasting time here, it made far more sense to go find Bianca.

Just as the three turned to leave, a heavy clunk echoed from the door behind them. The gap widened until it was just large enough for an adult man to slip through.

"Hurry, come in," a voice whispered.

Isolde Blackthorne stepped out. Though she tried her best to hide it, her expression was visibly strained.

Vivienne and Aurelia exchanged a glance but didn't move. A flash of murderous intent crossed Wesley's eyes as he brushed past Isolde and stepped directly into the secret room.

Seeing Wesley's menacing glare, the people huddled inside shifted uncomfortably, clustering together and avoiding his gaze.

Wesley scanned the room, confirming it was secure before stepping back out. He gave Vivienne a curt nod.

Vivienne understood. "We can handle things here. Alaric needs you. Go."

Wesley's expression remained grim. He shot a vicious glare at Isolde before turning and disappearing down the passage.

Isolde furrowed her brow. She wasn't the one who had stopped them from opening the door. She opened her mouth to explain, but the moment her eyes met Vivienne's, she swallowed her words.

...

Every time Isolde faced Vivienne, she felt a lingering unease. It wasn't hostility, but rather an uncontrollable wave of aversion.
