Marissa didn't dare ask more. Staring at the bowl in her hands, she said, "Please wait a moment." She turned and hurried upstairs.

Vivienne had already heard the commotion. When Marissa pushed the door open, she quickly lowered her head and pretended to diligently apply her ointment.

"Miss, I need to go out with Cedric for a bit. I'll take you for a walk when I get back."

Vivienne hummed in acknowledgment. Marissa set down the bowl and left the room.
