As soon as she said that, everyone sensed something was wrong.
The angry and resentful expression on Damien’s face instantly turned pale.
Talia looked at him in disbelief, her eyes burning with a hatred so intense it was as if she wanted to flay him alive. “Damien, are you even human?! She’s your daughter! She’s so young! How could you do that to her?”
Damien, mortified at being exposed, continued to argue. “This is all your fault! If you hadn’t stopped me from seeing Bianca, would I have had to resort to such extreme measures?”
“Enough!”
If this continued, the last shred of dignity the Whitmore family had would be torn to pieces.
Frederick closed his eyes and let out a weary breath. He looked at Bianca calmly. “Bianca, have you thought this through? Are you sure you won’t come home with your grandpa and dad?”
Bianca shook her head. “Grandpa, I’ve thought it through. If I truly have only one chance to make a change, I want to choose the people who love me.”
Vivienne was somewhat surprised. She glanced at Bianca, a pleased smile gracing her lips.
Not bad.
“Fine, fine, fine!” Frederick nodded, a new hardness settling in his eyes. He turned to Caspian. “We’ll be leaving.”
Damien shot Talia a cold glare and followed closely behind Frederick. Just as they were about to exit the hall, a figure appeared, blocking the main entrance.
The man was tall and imposing, with sparse eyebrows and intense, bulging eyes that seemed to bore into one’s soul. A demonic tattoo covered half of his face, giving him the appearance of a vicious criminal.
Frederick stopped, his fingers tightening, the prayer beads in his hand making a soft clicking sound.
The two men stared at each other for a full half-minute before Frederick let out a cold sneer and lifted his chin, continuing forward.
The Ravenshire family’s scare tactics were wasted on him. The fact that he, Frederick, had reached his current position meant he wasn’t easily frightened. He refused to believe Caspian would actually dare to do anything!
“Yes, sir,” Cedric replied, stepping in from outside the hall.
Caspian said, “Take the children and get them settled.”
Cedric nodded. “Mr. Cyril, Miss Lexton, Miss Bianca, please follow me.”
The three of them instinctively glanced at Caspian before obediently joining Cedric.
Cedric gestured for them to proceed, and they turned toward the entrance hall.
Vivienne walked in the middle. As she passed Frederick and Damien, she seemed to tremble with fear, her feet twisting together awkwardly. Once she was past them, she returned to normal.
Cyril’s eye twitched. He saw it. The girl had just crushed Frederick’s dentures under her foot.
