What was even more ironic was that she had been the one to name it.
Back then, Preston had scoffed at the name, but the very next day, the invites went out stamped with 'The Celestial Tier.' She always thought he was a psycho—constantly looking down on her, yet relentlessly forcing her into his world.
Later, he had taken her to The Terrestrial Tier. She had played a few hands of poker and walked away with a mountain of chips. At the time, she had been thrilled; the money was a massive windfall.
Seeing her joy, Preston had grabbed a massive stack of chips from the table and told her to cash out. Without hesitation, she had cleaned the table out entirely. When she left, Kael had chased after her, screaming curses the entire way to the car.
The memory of Kael's furious shouting overlapped with his current suppressed rage. Vivienne blinked, smoothly dodging the question. "You're already exposed. Does it matter how I found out?"
Noticing her slight hesitation, Preston leaned forward. "What else do you know?"
Vivienne tilted her head. "Everything I need to."
Kael's face fell. "What... what do you want?"
If this secret leaked, his life was over.
"Nothing much," Vivienne said breezily. "Just to report you. Your dad is currently locked in a political war with Dorian. If your illegal casino makes the front page, my family benefits immensely."
"You bitch!"
Kael surged forward, ready to unleash a string of violent curses, but Preston casually kicked him in the shin.
"Stop barking and sit down."
"..."
Kael shot Preston a furious glare but grudgingly dropped back onto the sofa.
