Daria’s POV

Of course, I had expected something to happen. With Lady Felida being out and about, I had no idea what she would be to, but there would certainly be SOMETHING.
up
I left the bedroom shortly after Caleb had. He had looked upset ut I hadn’t had the heart to go after him. It was after Killian and Eric, my cousin – by the goddess it was strange to think that even now – had excused themselves to have a chat that I finally took my leave. I wasn’t going to interfere in their relationship matters.
Thinking about the turn that the night had taken I went to my bedroom to change. Already a dress was laid out for me courtesy of Sabrina, from what a note on the table said.
–
‘Come or don’t, but I wanted you to have this S, the rest of the hote had read.
Sighing to myself. I called my maid and had her help me dress.
Regardless of whether or not my best friend insisted on my attendance, I still had Caleb to contend with. It didn’t matter whether or not I wanted to go. When the Alpha of Wisteria Pack asked for your presence, it was hard to refuse.
Upon reaching the meeting hall less than thirty minutes later, I was approached by a guard who seemed to have been waiting for me.
“Lady Daria,” the guard bowed before extending his hand towards the front of the meeting hall. “Your place is at the high table. Shall I lead you there?”
“I can go there by myself thanks,” I replied, keeping my eye on the high table. As the guard had stated there was a spot empty still, one left for me to fill.
I moved towards the front of the hall, without noticing someone staring. And that was my mistake. I had been distracted.
Suddenly a body collided with mine and I nearly fell to the floor but steadied myself. Bracing one arm against a chair by the side I wasn’t prepared for a loud shriek to fill the hall. Instantly everyone’s eyes were on myself, and Felicia who stood there looking murderous and staring right at me.
I felt a small wetness on my body and looked down to see the dress I had just worn, stained with a red wine that looked like it would be terrible to wash out. Felicia’s dress was even worse than mine, as if the majority of the glass had splashed onto hers, that it dropped down the skirt and left small droplets on the floor.
“You did this on purpose didn’t you?!” Felicia’s voice was full of ge and I blinked in confusion at her before realization struck me. Another plan of hers to embarrass me. Really now?
Scoffing silently I looked around me, gauging the eyes of the audience that were now drawn to this spectacle. Did any of them believe this crap?
It turned out of course that no one likely did. From the looks of nnoyance and distaste clearly written on a handful of faces and aimed directly at Felicia, it seemed to me that everyone still remembered the dramatic situation that had taken place the night before.
Still, that didn’t stop Felicia from acting up the victim narrative. Only this time she was clearly delusional.
“You bumped into me on purpose, didn’t you, you bitch?!” Sheade a move to grab my arm but I took a step back swiftly and she missed. Her dress and even her skin- the dress was pretty low cut – was stained with the blood red liquid and made her look like she had just appeared from a battle rather than had a simple mishap.
“I’m sorry if you think that Lady Felicia,” I responded calmly and let my voice be raised so everyone could hear and judge for themselves. If she thought she could push me around like before, she was sorely wrong. “But you were the one holding the glass. And I didn’t see you coming at all. Whatever happence must have been a mistake.”

“You always play that card don’t you? Oh I’m onto your game, Daria!” She sneered with a loud hiss, taking another step towards me. “If you hadn’t come here to the pack in the first place, none of this would have happened!”
“That’s enough!” I heard Caleb’s loud growling voice.
“Someone should stop her, she’s fucking crazy,” someone close us muttered
Everyone was glaring at Felicia and the meeting hall was filled with murmurs. Yet it didn’t stop her one bit.
The guards quickly flanked her and she flew into a rage, this tim grabbing a water glass on the table next to us and made to smash it in one of the guard’s faces. Wrong move. Even I winced and thought of her stupidity. She wasn’t even trained for battle. Did she think she could attack a well trained guard of the Wisteria Pack and get away with it?
As she was held firmly, she began to screech and struggle against the guards.
“I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you for ruining my life, you bitch! You should have never come back here! It’s because of you that all this happened to me!”
She was being dragged out but her screams didn’t abate. A guard moved towards me, holding a towel and bowing in apology
to me.
Taking the towel, I wiped down my dress, sighing inwardly.
I suppose I couldn’t go one day without being caught up in a twisted situation.
Glancing down at the dress, I decided it was best for me to change.
“Are you alright?” Caleb had reached my side. I looked up at him and nodded, feeling awkward.
That was when a guard came to his side and murmured in his ear. Despite it not being addressed to me I could hear it very clearly.
“Alpha, Lady Felicia is demanding to see you outside. Elder Tale is with her and refuses to leave until he speaks with you and also with Lady Daria.”
Dread pooled in my gut. If he was insisting on speaking with me then there was trouble.
“I see,” Caleb didn’t look pleased either.
“What’s going on?” Sabrina rushed to my side, and Caleb addressed the guard first.
“I’ll go. Daria, you stay here,” he was about to leave when I grabbed his arm.
“No. You don’t get to make decisions like this for me, Alpha Cale,” I straightened. “If the Elder wants to pick a fight with me then I’ll be glad to meet him.”
His gaze grew darker but I wasn’t about to wait and let him convince me to stay.
I moved to leave the hall, storming out and gathering my courage.
“Daria wait!”
It was Sabrina that caught up to me first, and I stopped right outside the meeting hall, staring at Elder Talen being held back by guards and Felicia beside him. There were a few more Eldersmong them that I didn’t recognize. Another audience l had no intention of pleasing.
“You asked to see me,” I said as I approached the small group. Eller Talen glared at me fiercely and so did everyone else, but Felicia was the worst. She looked more than angry; her manic fly was obvious from how her eyes bulged and were red.
