"Giselle, you're playing with fire! You'll regret it sooner or later," Isabella warned.
But Giselle didn't listen. She simply turned on her heel and walked straight out of the private room.
In the next instant, Queenie locked the door from inside. When she turned, Isabella saw nothing but hatred in her eyes.
"What are you doing, Queenie?" Isabella asked, her voice already shaking.
She knew very well that Queenie was nothing like Giselle. Giselle only cared about money. If she were given what she wanted, she'd walk away.
Queenie, on the other hand, wanted Isabella dead.
Yet, Queenie said nothing. She advanced slowly, while the two burly men flanked her on either side. Isabella had no way out.
Queenie stopped in front of her. Without a word, she raised her hand and slapped Isabella hard. The blow landed with full force, leaving a red mark across Isabella's cheek.
Isabella turned to look at Queenie. Her tone was calm as she said, "Ms. Klein, I know you're mad at me. But whether you end up with Theodore or not is between the two of you. I'm just an outsider in all this. You've hit me and let off some steam. Can I go now?"
Given her situation, Isabella knew she couldn't fight back. If she did, she'd only get hurt. All that mattered now was getting out of here.
However, Queenie had lost all reason. She let out a cold laugh and spat, "Isabella, you still think you can walk away?"
She then walked over to the couch, poured herself a drink, and downed it in one gulp. She made to set the glass down but suddenly hurled it at Isabella.
Fortunately, Isabella had been watching her every move. She stepped back just in time, and the glass missed her head.
"This is all your fault! Theodore is sending me away because of you!" Queenie shrieked. "And you think you can just leave? Even if I have to go back, I'll make you pay first!"
Isabella's stomach dropped at those words.
Almost immediately, Queenie barked at the men, "The two of you! Take care of her now!"
Isabella backed away, panic rising. But she was boxed in, and the door was locked. There was nowhere to run. With no other choice, she turned to Queenie and tried to reason with her.
"Queenie, think this through. If you do this, you'll destroy any chance you have left with Theodore. Is that what you really want?"
"Go on, scream louder! When Theodore sees this, he might pity you. And who knows, maybe he won't abandon you?"
Queenie's laughter turned shrill. "Why did you have to go after him, huh? It's fine if he chooses not to be with me, but he can't be with anyone else! And yet, he married you the moment he came back! Tell me, Isabella. Aren't you just asking for it?"
By then, the men had yanked off Isabella's pants. The sight of her slender legs made their eyes darken with lust, and they fumbled for their belts.
"I'll take her first!" one growled.
The other barked, "Back off! I'm going first!"
Queenie rolled her eyes at the sight of the men fighting over Isabella. But when she looked back at her, the hatred in her gaze burned even fiercer.
"This was how you seduced Theodore, right? Since you love tempting men so much, let's see how much you'll enjoy it now!" Queenie spat.
Isabella's voice broke with sobs. "Queenie, I'm begging you. You've got it wrong. There's nothing between Theodore and me! What we have is just a marriage of convenience!"
