Isabella watched Queenie walk away, her heart sinking with despair and anger. How could someone be this cruel?
"Queenie! Don't walk away! If you treat me like this, Theodore will hate you too!"
Queenie paused at the door, smirking with contempt. "If he really cares about me, he'll forgive me no matter how awful I am. But if I don't matter to him, then why should it matter if he hates me?"
"Queenie!" Isabella shouted, but Queenie didn't look back and just opened the door of the private room.
Isabella's heart sank to the bottom. It was the same feeling she had the last time Nathan had set her up, but back then, Theodore had arrived just in time.
Tonight, no one knew she was out. Even if she died here, would anyone notice?
Just as she was losing all hope, Queenie suddenly stopped and began backing up. Step by step, her hateful glare shifted, now laced with fear. It was as though someone outside had terrified her and was driving her back.
Isabella became hopeful again. Who was it?
"Theodore? You… How did you get here…" Queenie's voice trembled slightly.
Hearing the name, Isabella couldn't hold back her tears anymore. It was him. He had really come.
The next moment, she saw Theodore appear like a god in front of her eyes. Her vision blurred from tears.
When Theodore stepped in and saw the scene inside the room, it was as if the air itself had turned to ice.
"No one is coming in!" he roared.
Behind him were Yannick and his friends. At Theodore's command, not a single one dared to advance. Instead, they quietly backed away.
Theodore strode in, kicking each of the two thugs still crowding Isabella a full yard away. Of course, that wasn't the limit of his strength. It was just the limit of the room. Anyone who knew him knew how formidable he was.
Queenie had seen him in action before. Hearing the muffled groans from the thugs, she could only imagine how powerful those kicks had been.
For years, she had never seen another woman near him. He had always treated her with care and love, not just for days but for years…
It wasn't just her; everyone else thought he loved her too.
So, why did everything change? She was unwilling to accept it.
"What do you want, Theodore? You're not going to make me apologize to her, are you?" Her eyes were full of disbelief.
All these years, she had made mistakes far worse than this, but when had he ever snapped at her? He would always say, "Queenie, what you did was wrong. Don't do it again."
Then, he would quietly clean up the mess without ever complaining.
But now, his eyes blazed with anger as he advanced step by step toward her… She even saw a flicker of hatred in his gaze. How could he hate her? How could he?
Right in front of her stunned gaze, he suddenly raised his hand and slapped her across the face hard.
