Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 126

"Stop pretending!" Margaret roared hysterically.

"It was you! You despise Giselle because she's bullied you since she was young, so you killed her. It was you, Isabella!"

Margaret wailed like a madwoman as she slumped on the ground.

Her baseless accusations frustrated Isabella. Just as she was about to argue, Theodore grabbed her by her wrist and shook his head gently.

They waited at the door until Margaret was tired out from all the crying. Only when she lay on the floor, sobbing, did the pair step back indoors while kicking aside the trash.

Margaret shifted but did not lash out again.

Theodore took a quick glance at the couch, which was covered in piles of clothing. He furrowed his brows in disdain, then pulled a clean stool over for Isabella to sit on instead.

She sat down and lowered her head to look at Margaret. "Where's Richard?" she asked.

Upon hearing that, Margaret looked up abruptly, her eyes empty. All of a sudden, she started laughing and crying all at once.

"Richard? Does he even remember that this is his home? He's probably already with his lover. He doesn't even care that his own daughter has died! Is he even a human being? I'll get rid of him the moment I get the chance to do so!"

Margaret clenched her teeth so hard that Isabella could see some blood oozing from the corners of her lips.

Margaret's daughter was dead, and her husband was cheating on her. At this moment, sympathy rose within Isabella. It was no wonder Margaret was losing her mind.

"What happened to Giselle? You said that she was murdered. Have you reported this to the authorities?" Isabella asked.

When Margaret heard the last question, she shook her head repeatedly, as if the question triggered her. Anxiously, she said, "No. I can't. We can't call the cops. We can't!"

Isabella frowned. She turned her face toward Theodore, and they both exchanged a glance.

"Margaret, we won't be able to help you if you don't tell us the truth."

"Hah, will you even help me?" Margaret replied sarcastically, glaring at Isabella. She added, "Are you that kind? Plus, why would you help me?"

"You're right. I don't want to help you," Isabella answered honestly.

She turned away as quickly as she could, her breath shortening. Theodore immediately put his phone away and reached out to pat her on her back. He lowered his voice as he said, "Caleb is looking into it now."

Margaret, who was crying on the floor, fell silent all of a sudden when she heard them. She crawled toward them and grabbed Theodore by the leg of his pants.

"That photo… That was Giselle, wasn't it? Was it her? Are you people able to find out who killed her? Tell me—who was it? Who killed my daughter?"

Her voice shook, and hatred filled her eyes. If only she could maul to death those who killed Giselle this instant!

Theodore pulled his leg away from Margaret while knitting his brows together. In a frigid voice, he said, "You should go to the authorities if you truly wish to find out the truth."

Immediately, Margaret exclaimed nervously, "No, I can't! Giselle was defiled. No one can find out about that!"

"Why do you still care about her reputation? She's already dead!" Isabella screamed.

"What do you even know?" Margaret went ballistic again, grabbing at things and hurling them at Isabella.

Theodore suddenly lifted his foot, kicking the thrown items away. "Try touching one more thing, I dare you."
