Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 127

Theodore was genuinely enraged. Typically, he was frightening enough even when he put on a stern expression. But once he lost his temper, everyone feared him.

Even Margaret, someone who had experienced merciless arguments, was instantly silenced by a warning glare from him.

Once Theodore saw that she had simmered down, he went up to her. In a frosty voice, he said, "It's your choice whether or not you wish to report your daughter's case to the authorities, but I want you to take us to see her right now."

Worried, Margaret asked, "Y-You people aren't going to call the cops, are you?"

Isabella frowned and replied, "Margaret, could you be a little less ignorant? How are you going to hide it, considering the state Giselle ended up in? People will still be able to tell when she's eventually sent to the crematorium.

"Did you think that others would just sit back and not call the cops? Plus, Giselle's the victim. It's her murderer who should be afraid!"

"I wasn't planning on getting her cremated…" Margaret mumbled.

Isabella widened her eyes at Margaret, shocked. She asked, "What were you planning on doing, then?"

Margaret's neck stiffened. She said, "I wanted to take her back to the countryside and bury her under the peach tree in front of our old place. I'm sure she'll love it there. She loved eating peaches when she was young."

Isabella couldn't believe her ears.

Theodore took a quick look at her, signaling to her with his gaze and prompting her to look toward the room. At this moment, her head went numb. Stiffly, she turned her head, her gaze shifting toward the door to Giselle's room.

"Margaret! Why, you… Is Giselle in the room?"

Instantly, Margaret's eyes shifted nervously. She was too afraid to meet Isabella's gaze. She stuttered, "O-Of course not… W-Why would she… Don't run your mouth like that."

Theodore strode straight toward the door to Giselle's room, which was shut tight.

Upon seeing that, Margaret darted toward him anxiously. She opened her arms, blocking his way to the door like a hen protecting its chicks. She stared straight at Theodore, screaming, "What are you trying to do? You're not allowed to go in there!"

In a voice as cold as ice, Theodore ordered, "Move aside!"

Even though Margaret was startled, she was still a mother at the end of the day. No matter how terrible she was as a person, she really loved her daughter, Giselle, very much. As afraid as she was, she stood her ground, refusing to make way.

Isabella stepped forward and said, "We're not going to do anything. We just want to find out Giselle's cause of death. If you're going to continue acting like this, you will leave us with no choice but to call the cops."

When Margaret heard that, she had no choice but to quietly step aside with her head lowered. When Isabella stole a glance at her, she happened to see tears falling from her eyes.

A plethora of emotions churned within her.

Worried that she'd lose it again, Isabella turned toward her and said to her politely, "We just want to get to the bottom of Giselle's death."

As Margaret stood at the door and watched them, she finally broke down. She crouched to the floor, wailing in despair while also trying to hold back her cries. "What's there to figure out? It was that damn gang of inhumane bastards! Not only did they defile my daughter, but they also took her life…

"Oh, my dear Giselle… This is so heartbreaking. Oh, my precious daughter…"

Margaret tore at her hair with both hands as tears of despair dripped onto the floor.

Isabella felt terrible watching Margaret have a breakdown. She went up to her and patted her gently on her back. "It's no use talking about this now. The most important thing right now is to call the cops and a forensics team so that the truth about Giselle's case can be revealed. The murderers will then have to pay the price."

"But—"

Margaret still felt worried.

Isabella persuaded, "No more 'buts.' I'm sure you're well aware of what Giselle was like. She definitely wouldn't want her life to end in such injustice!"

Theodore took his phone out right away and called the authorities. In a calm yet extremely firm voice, he said, "Hello? We found a woman's body. We'll need a forensics team and police officers to come over immediately. The address is—"
