Isabella was stunned. The thought had never crossed her mind. Even if it had, how could she be capable of blacklisting someone in the industry? Was Alexander behind this?

Jessie had come to serve the dishes, so she couldn't loiter. Though her words were sharp when she spoke to Isabella, she had to keep her tone soft and gentle because of her job. She said, "If there's nothing else, ma'am, I need to head into the room."

Isabella stepped aside. She didn't know how to feel, seeing Jessie like this now. Once upon a time, the latter had been her only friend. Even after Jessie betrayed her, Isabella didn't feel any hatred for her. She only felt disappointed.

"I never…" Isabella said. "I never thought of blacklisting you, Jessie. You think too highly of me. I'm not capable of that."

Jessie nodded. "It's true that you're not, but what about your precious Mr. Alexander Sinclair?"

"I'm not with him," Isabella said firmly. She wasn't lying. She was married to Theodore, not Alexander.

Jessie snorted. "Do you get off on lying to me, Isabella? I heard the people in there refer to you as Mrs. Sinclair!"

"Of course. My husband's surname is Sinclair too."

Jessie gave her a suspicious look, still not really believing her.

So, Isabella asked, "Did you see Alexander in there?"

Jessie thought about it. She hadn't.

Isabella continued, "You didn't, right? He'll be here later, but only because tonight's dinner is to discuss his engagement to Ms. Logan."

"This is my husband," Isabella said graciously.

Jessie, flustered, said, "H-Hi…"

Theodore paid her no mind. He merely took Isabella's hand, the warmth of his fingers feeling just right. "Let's head back inside."

As he pulled Isabella along, she turned back to glance at Jessie. The latter's head was lowered, and her shoulders were slumped. She seemed rather pitiful now, compared to her earlier hostility.

Isabella paused and said softly, "Jessie, you can try contacting Prestige Hotel's HR department if you want. They're currently hiring."

Jessie's head snapped up, and she stared at Isabella with wide eyes. It was only after the door swung shut behind Isabella and Theodore that her face fell. She remembered who Theodore was now—he was Alexander's uncle and the head of the Sinclair family!
