Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 150

At noon, Isabella got a call from the company's receptionist. A delivery guy was in the lobby with a massive bouquet of roses, saying they were for her. She told the receptionist to let him come up.

When the elevator doors opened, an enormous bundle of red roses practically hid the delivery guy from view.

Isabella's jaw dropped, and she blinked in shock as the delivery guy bellowed, "Is Ms. Isabella Moore here? You have a flower delivery. Please sign for them!"

She hurried over and took the receipt from the delivery guy. While signing, she asked, "Thank you, but um… Do you know who sent these?"

Her mind raced through the possibilities. Theodore had just left yesterday, and he wouldn't be this flashy. Alexander was even less likely; he barely had a kind word to say to her.

The delivery guy scratched his head. "No idea. The order only had your name and the company address. There's no sender info. These are pricey, though. I've been delivering for ages, and this is my first time seeing such a huge bouquet of roses! You're one lucky lady, Ms. Moore!"

Isabella gave an awkward laugh and carried the flowers back to her desk. She carefully peeled back the layers of wrapping paper and found a card tucked inside. It simply read "Happy Birthday" but had no signature.

Hardly anyone knew it was her birthday that day—not even Theodore knew.

As she puzzled over who could've sent them, Kenneth bounded upstairs to look for her. The moment he came out of the elevator, he ran to her in excitement and asked happily, "What do you think, Isabella? Are you surprised? Do you like the flowers I sent?"

"You sent them?"

"Yeah! Happy birthday!"

Isabella was still holding the card. Her eyes widened at Kenneth's words, and her voice was full of surprise as she said, "So, it was you… I was racking my brain trying to figure it out."

He glanced at the roses on her desk and raised an eyebrow, looking proud. "Pretty impressive, right? I told the florist to pick the freshest red roses. There are 99 of them!"

He pulled a small gift box from behind his back. "Oh, and this—your birthday present. Open it!"

Isabella waved her hands, declining. "You've already spent too much, and the flowers are enough. I can't return the flowers since they've already been delivered, so I'll keep them. You have to take the gift back."

"This isn't too much. It's your birthday, Isabella. It's got to be a big deal!" Kenneth beamed.

She stepped back, refusing to accept the box. It looked like jewelry, which had to be expensive. She couldn't take it.

"By the way, are you free tonight? I've booked a restaurant for your birthday dinner," Kenneth said.

Isabella was about to respond when Alexander emerged from his office. His eyes locked on Kenneth, and his gaze instantly turned wary. He asked sharply, "What are you two doing during work hours?"

At 6:00 pm, Isabella knocked on Alexander's office door. But when she entered, she didn't see any sign of a meeting being held. All she saw was him alone inside with a sleek black gift box on his desk.

"Mr. Sinclair, isn't there supposed to be a meeting?" she asked, confused.

He stood, walked over, and handed her the box. "No, there isn't."

She was taken aback. "You lied to me?"

"You would've gone out with Kenneth tonight if I hadn't." Alexander's tone was matter-of-fact, almost smug. "Open it."

Isabella hesitated before taking the box and opening it. Inside was a delicate women's watch, its face adorned with tiny diamonds. Its leather strap was soft, and the whole piece was understatedly elegant.

"This is…"

"Your birthday gift," Alexander said, watching her reaction as a faint softness flickered in his eyes. "It's more practical than what Kenneth gave you."
