"Let's go," said Alexander as he grabbed his coat and headed out.

Isabella hurried to catch up with him. As she passed her desk, she grabbed her bag and caught up with Alexander in the elevator.

"Where are we going?" Isabella asked.

"Dinner."

"I—"

"It's an appointment with a client," Alexander interrupted her before she could finish speaking.

Isabella immediately fell silent. Since it was work-related, she had no reason to refuse.

They left the office together, with Isabella trailing closely behind Alexander. She didn't even notice when he stopped and accidentally bumped into his back. She hissed in pain as she rubbed her forehead.

Alexander chuckled softly. "Does it hurt?"

"Why don't you try it?" she retorted irritably.

"You're the one who bumped into me. Here, let me have a look." He bent down and gently touched her forehead. He noticed it was indeed reddening.

The sudden closeness made her take a step back. "Actually... it doesn't hurt that much."

His eyes darkened. He said nothing further and opened the car door for her.

Isabella lowered her head to avoid his gaze and got into the car.

As their car drove off, a black sedan on the opposite side of the road switched on its headlights. Caleb turned and asked Theodore, "Mr. Sinclair, should we follow them? It seems like Mrs. Sinclair and Mr. Alexander are heading out to meet a client."

"Follow them," Theodore said in a deep voice.

Caleb, unaware of the relationship between Alexander and Isabella, was more focused on the fact that Theodore had canceled an important business trip just to celebrate Isabella's birthday today.

Who would have thought that Isabella would have her own plans for her birthday?

She chose to ignore his comment and texted, "Mr. Sinclair is just jealous. It's probably because Mr. Alexander is getting too close to Mrs. Sinclair. Just keep quiet and don't say anything inappropriate. Your job will be safe."

Caleb still found it hard to believe. Isabella and Alexander were relatives, so how could that be possible?
