Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 184

Isabella stared at the phone in her hand. Why was Queenie the one answering Theodore's phone? Wasn't she supposed to be missing? And how was it that the moment Theodore went abroad, Queenie suddenly appeared by his side?

How many things were Theodore hiding from her?

Without a word, she ended the call. She didn't want to hear anything more from Queenie. Until Theodore explained everything, she wouldn't trust anyone else.

At noon, Emma came to visit. Isabella asked her about Theodore, but Emma said she still couldn't reach him.

Now, Isabella had a growing suspicion that something had happened to him. With everything happening back home, she couldn't shake the fear that something serious had gone wrong.

Noticing the concern on Isabella's face, Emma quickly reassured her. "Don't worry, Mrs. Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair is fine. He's probably tied up with something important. As soon as he's free, he'll call you."

Isabella wanted to believe her. No matter what had happened, Theodore would at least call her. But two days passed, and there was still no word from him. When she tried calling again, the phone went straight to voicemail.

Since Theodore left the country, they hadn't been able to get in touch. The one time she managed to get through, it was Queenie who answered.

She told Emma everything, and Emma promised to look into it. For now, Emma was the only one she could rely on.

Meanwhile, Alexander seemed to be using Theodore's absence to quietly rally support among the board.

Her injury still hadn't fully healed, and she was eager to return to the office to find out what Alexander was really planning. But for now, all she could do was lie in the hospital bed, waiting for Emma to bring her any news about Theodore.

But every time Emma came, the answer was the same. There was still no word from him.

Isabella clenched her phone in her palm. The cold metal dug into her fingers, but it did nothing to ease the anxiety gnawing at her chest.

Outside the window, dark clouds hung low and heavy. The oppressive sky seemed to press down on her, mirroring the unease weighing on her heart. She had started to grow so anxious that she even began to doubt Emma.

Yet every time Emma showed up, guilt was written all over her face, and the questions Isabella wanted to ask died on her lips.

On the fifth day Theodore had gone silent, the hospital staff called and told her to pick up Margaret's body.

"She's so beautiful. She must have a lot of people chasing after her," she remarked.

Vivian sounded excited. "Do you know who she's getting engaged to?"

"Who? A big celebrity?" Isabella asked, curious.

Vivian replied, "Nope! It's the youngest son of the Sinclair family! The top elite family in Solara! She's marrying into wealth!"

Isabella froze.

The youngest Sinclair? If she counted all the extended branches, the family had plenty of young heirs.

"What's his name?"

Vivian answered, "Alexander Sinclair! Oh, by the way, I remember you worked at one of their subsidiaries. Have you met Alexander? Is he really as handsome as he looks in the photos?"
