Alexander was getting engaged?
Isabella was stunned. How had she not heard a single word about this? Was this another decision made by Amelia without consulting anyone?
Vivian: "What's wrong, Isabella?"
Isabella snapped back to reality. "Vivian, do you know anything about Layla's background?"
Vivian: "Not much, but I heard her family is really wealthy. So it's not exactly a step up for her. It's more like a marriage alliance between powerful families."
Isabella thought about it for a moment. If Alexander was now trying to secure control over the Sinclair family, it would make sense that he'd seek alliances to strengthen his position. Marrying into another powerful family would definitely gain him more support, especially from the board members.
Isabella: "When is the engagement?"
Vivian: "Not sure. Layla posted a photo showing a man's legs in bed. When someone asked who he was, she said he was her fiancé, but didn't mention the date of the engagement. It should be announced soon, especially with so many fans waiting for it."
If this was a move to secure the position of the leader, it was likely they'd announce the engagement soon.
Just then, Vivian added: "I wonder who Glamoore will marry. The people who went to the party said she is incredibly beautiful. I'm so excited..."
Isabella smiled faintly and replied, "Don't worry. With so many fans rooting for her, she'll marry someone wonderful."
As she typed that, Isabella couldn't help but think of Theodore. She missed him so much. Where was he?
Suddenly, a voice rang out from outside the door. "Get out of my way! Do you even know who I am? You dare stop me?"
Isabella quickly put her phone away and glanced toward the door.
"Sorry, Mr. Sinclair has given instructions that no one except the doctors is allowed in. Mrs. Sinclair, please go back now."
The voice was unmistakable. "Then call Theodore! I'm telling you, even Theodore wouldn't dare stop me, so what makes you think you can? Step aside, now!"
Isabella held her gaze, unfazed. "Spit it out. What do you want?"
"Alexander's getting engaged," Amelia said with a smug look, raising her chin in triumph.
Isabella responded coolly, "Oh, congratulations then."
"It's with Layla from the York family. The engagement party is tomorrow. Since Theodore is away, you'll attend in his place."
Tomorrow? So sudden? Isabella frowned, suspecting there was more behind this than just a simple engagement.
"Sorry, I can't make it," she said flatly.
Amelia sneered. "Can't make it? Don't tell me you're still hung up on Alexander. Listen, Isabella, I'm letting you attend because you're Theodore's wife. But if you cause any trouble at the engagement party, you'll regret it. Got it?"
Isabella gave a sarcastic smile, her eyes cold as she stared at Amelia. "In that case, I'll pass."
