"She was just a physical release for me! You're the one I actually love. I knew that from the very beginning. Once we get married, I'll cut her off entirely. She won't ever affect our relationship."
"I don't recycle trash!"
Lucas's expression turned vicious. He snatched her wrist, slammed her against the wall, and crashed his mouth down on hers.
Vanessa recoiled in absolute horror. Unable to dodge, she clamped her lips tightly shut and shoved at his chest with all her might.
The physical disparity was overwhelming. Lucas's grip was brutally strong. He clamped his hand onto the back of her neck, aggressively trying to force her lips apart.
His other hand roughly tore at the collar of her shirt, his mouth trailing down her neck...
"Lucas, you bastard! Let go of me!"
She screamed in pure terror, thrashing violently against his grip.
But Lucas completely tuned her out, his kisses turning savage and frantic.
He had never once forced her in the past. He had always been so incredibly careful with her boundaries. But today, he was done holding back.
As long as he claimed her body, she would belong to him entirely. She would never bring up breaking up or try to leave him again.
He practically dragged her toward the bedroom. Panic finally seized Vanessa's mind.
"Get the hell off me! Don't touch me!"
"Help! Somebody hel—"
A massive hand clamped tightly over her mouth, muffling her scream.
Lucas whispered against her ear, trying to sound soothing. "Honey, stop screaming. I really know I screwed up. Just forgive me this one time. Just be good for me, and I'll be gentle..."
Vanessa's face went dead pale. That sickening, paralyzing wave of revulsion crawled up her spine like a swarm of insects.
As the hotel door began to swing shut, absolute dread flooded her eyes.
At the very last second, a strong hand shot out and jammed the door open.
Alistair Howard strode in. He ripped Vanessa away from Lucas's grasp and kicked him squarely in the chest, sending him crashing to the floor.
He glanced at the trembling, terrified woman and asked in a low voice, "Are you okay?"
Vanessa nodded numbly, her heart hammering against her ribs. Only then did she realize it was the striking man from the hallway. In her panic, she hadn't even noticed that her torn collar was completely exposing her chest.
