After she finished speaking, Charlotte pulled out her phone and tapped into a recording

app.

Very quickly, Natalie’s voice came through the speaker.

It perfectly replayed the conversation from just moments ago.

When it ended, Charlotte put her phone away, her gaze openly mocking.

“You all heard it, right? Is this evidence enough?”

No one had expected Charlotte to be recording. For a moment, everyone froze.

Everly almost forced herself to speak.

“Charlotte! What the hell are you doing? You set this up on purpose just to trap

everyone, didn’t you?!”

Charlotte let out a cold laugh. “See? Even when I lay the evidence right in front of you,

you’ll still find some ‘crime’ to pin on me.”

“This is probably what people mean by being innocent but guilty for having something

others want.”

Everly snapped, “Don’t throw fancy words at me. I see it clearly-you did it on purpose!

You deliberately led Nat into saying all that, then recorded it, and then you deliberately lured everyone over here just to watch us embarrass ourselves!”

“Embarrass yourselves?”

Charlotte’s smile looked half-real, half-fake.

“Mom, I’ve been married into the Russell family for three years, and this is the first time

I’ve heard you describe something so objectively.”

“It’s true. You embarrassed yourselves.”

“You!”

Everly almost lashed out, but a single look from Lillian stopped her cold.

Lillian knew she’d been fooled too. She was angry, but she knew better than to show it.

If she blew up now, it really would make the Russell family look arrogant and

unreasonable.

Lillian had lived decades longer than Everly. She was far better at hiding her fury.

“Now that we look at it,” Lillian said, “this really was caused by Nat.”

Her expression shifted, turning noticeably kinder in an instant.

“Charlie, Nat is still young and doesn’t know any better. Don’t hold it against her.”

Then she turned to Natalie. “Nat, hurry up and apologize to your sister-in-law.”

Faced with someone she hated, Natalie was never going to bow her head.

She clung to Lillian’s arm and acted spoiled.

Lillian shot her a look. “Just do it. A child who knows she’s wrong and fixes it is a good

child. If you’re wrong, you admit it. That’s a virtue in our Russell family. Hurry up and

apologize.”

Everly caught Lillian’s meaning right away.

“Nat, apologize. Don’t let outsiders think the Russell family’s kids don’t know how to

behave.”

But Charlotte, this “outsider,” didn’t want a simple apology from Natalie.

“Grandma, what did you say just now? You’re not going to pretend you forgot already,

are you?”

Lillian looked awkward and glanced at Matthew.

Matthew immediately said, “Alright, alright. Nat is still a kid. Don’t stoop to her level.

Later I’ll scold her properly.”

Charlotte gave a faint smile. “Just now, you all were very happy to ‘stoop’ to me. And

Grandma already said it herself-however you punish me, you punish her the same.”

“Didn’t everyone hear it?”

“Or what?” Charlotte paused on purpose. “Are you going to make Grandma into

someone who goes back on her word?”

“Grandma runs the Russell family. She’s the face of the Russell family. When she

Having just given birth, and with a top-tier postpartum nanny taking meticulous care of

her, Isabella looked full and radiant, her face practically glowing.

Her figure was alluring, her chest full and high, so lush it was almost provocative.

Charlotte couldn’t help glancing at Matthew.

He hurried to support Isabella, scolding her gently. “Didn’t I tell you to rest in your room? Why did you come out?”

Isabella looked at him with nothing but tenderness. “I heard you all arguing, and I couldn’t relax. I had to come see. Matt, don’t worry. I’m fine.”

Natalie ran straight to Isabella, crying as she spoke. “Bella, please help me beg Grandma. She wants to punish me by making me kneel.”

Isabella obviously wasn’t stupid enough to beg Lillian.

“Charlie, Nat has a quick temper. Sometimes she really does speak without thinking. Could you, for the sake of the fact that she’s Grandma and Mom’s precious baby, and also Matt’s most beloved little sister, let her off this one time?”

Brilliant.

That line was so brilliantly said.

Charlotte practically wanted to applaud.

If she refused, she’d be openly slapping everyone in the face.
