The private room door had barely cracked open when a familiar voice slipped in.

Natalie said, “I don’t believe that. What, is your fiancée too pretty, so you don’t want outsiders to see her?”

Steven said, “Miss Russell, Mr. Hall is busy every day. He doesn’t have time to attend

your birthday party.”

Natalie shot him a sharp look. “I’m talking to Mr. Hall. Why do you keep butting in?

You’re just an assistant. Why are you so ill-mannered?”

Nathan frowned.

“He is my assistant, yes. But he’s also my younger brother. Miss Russell, watch your

words.”

Warmth surged through Steven.
