Lillian asked with a pained look, “Kenna, go check, quick. What’s wrong with the little young master? Why is he crying so hard?”

After that, she turned to Margaret.

“Ever since this great-grandson came into the family, I have had more and more to look

He didn’t answer Margaret. He greeted Lillian instead.

“Grandma.”

Margaret’s expression stiffened on the spot.

Warm face, cold shoulder-she was lowering herself enough to look downright pathetic.

Even Charlotte couldn’t stand watching it.

The arrogance on Lillian’s face was impossible to hide. “Mm. You’re back.”

“Your mother-in-law came specifically to see you. Come sit with her for a while.”

Matthew sat as told.

Margaret forced a smile.

“Robert, what are you waiting for? Greet your brother-in-law!”

Robert drawled out a lazy, “Hi, Matthew.”

“This is Robert?”

Matthew had only seen Robert once at the wedding, so he didn’t remember him well.

Margaret said, “Yes. You two only met once at the wedding. After that, he went back

overseas to study. He only just returned a few days ago. I thought I’d bring him to see

you, his brother-in-law, and let him understand what it means that there’s always

someone better out there.”

Of course Matthew liked hearing flattery like that.

“As they say, like father, like son.. With a father like my father-in-law, his son surely

won’t be bad either.”

Robert didn’t respond. He turned his head to the other side, watching as Natalie walked out of the room with her head held high.

Lillian snapped.

Natalie immediately shut her mouth.

This was close.

She almost let it slip in front of outsiders.

when he needs rest.”

Your dad is still at home waiting for me to eat dinner.”

Lillian put on a fake show of keeping them. “It’s rare for you to come. Stay and have

dinner together.”

Margaret said, “No. Charlie’s dad is home alone. I won’t feel at ease.”

Lillian said, “Fine, then I won’t keep you. Matt, go see your mother-in-law out.”

Matthew answered with a quiet “Mm.”

But Charlotte said, “No need. I’ll take her out. Let Matt rest.”
