Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by Mr. Righ novel Chapter 106

Chapter 106 Family Arrival

Finished

The hotel lobby buzzed with guests coming and going. A large group had gathered nearby, drawn by the drama.

Elaine and the others happened to walk past and naturally glanced over.

Then they saw Quinn standing in the middle of the crowd.

Victor and Elaine exchanged a look.

In their minds, when people clustered around something in a public place, it usually meant trouble. They considered themselves respectable people and normally stayed far away from scenes like that.

What they didn’t expect was to find Quinn at the center of it.

Chase was with them.

The moment he spotted Quinn, he walked straight toward her. Quinn looked just as surprised to see them.

Chase approached quickly, putting on an eager smile. “Seven, what brings you here?” he said. “Quinn’s here too. Did something happen?”

Earlier their view had been blocked, so they hadn’t seen Julian.

Now that they were closer, Chase finally noticed him.

Just moments ago he had been ready to confront Quinn about disappearing for days.

The instant he saw Julian, his entire attitude changed. Julian didn’t respond. He only gave Chase a brief, cold glance.

Quinn spoke first.

“Dad, Mom, what are you doing here?”

Elaine’s eyes briefly lingered on Julian before she looked away. Even at her age, she had rarely seen a man with such striking presence.

Judging from Chase’s respectful tone, she could tell Julian was someone important.

Whenever Elaine met people with status, she became especially polished and composed.

“The holiday is coming up,” she said gracefully. “Rosalie suggested we all get together. Chase arranged dinner for us and a few professors from the university. We didn’t expect to run into you here. Did something happen?”

The moment she mentioned professors, it subtly revealed their status. Elaine had always been proud of her identity as a college professor.

Quinn gave a small smile.

There was bitterness in it.

Rosalie really knows how to pull strings, even from overseas.

Chase and Quinn were already heading toward divorce, yet he was still hosting dinners for Elaine, Victor, and their colleagues.

“It’s nothing serious.” Quinn said. “Just a small misunderstanding. Don’t let it ruin your dinner plans.”

Julian still ignored him, which made Chase uneasy.

He turned toward Quinn instead.

“You should come with us,” he said. “I need to talk to you later.”

He still planned to question her about the supposed affair.

Lucy immediately cut in. “Hold on. Quinn can leave, but someone here needs to apologize first.”

Elaine had already noticed Julian and Lucy. She could tell Lucy came from money.

Elaine quickly asked, “What exactly happened here?”

Lucy crossed her arms.

“You really don’t know? That man spread rumors about Quinn and made everyone think she was cheating. Quinn would never do something like that.”

Chase frowned and looked at Quinn. “So the cheating rumor was a misunderstanding?”

Quinn didn’t want to deal with him. She simply nodded once.

Julian glanced at Harold. The pressure in that look was obvious.

Harold spoke immediately, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have used Ms. Lane. The entire situation was something

I staged myself. It has nothing to do with her. The cheating accusation was completely false.”

Chase still looked confused, like he wanted to ask more.

But Quinn had already lost interest in staying.

She looked at Harold calmly. “As for the jewelry design, I think we should cancel it. Harold, next time you make a decision, maybe try asking yourself if it’s the right thing to do first.”

Lucy let out a sharp laugh.

“Right thing? He clearly doesn’t have a conscience. Quinn spent days working on that design for you, and this is what she gets? You owe her compensation for emotional damage.”

Harold nodded quickly, “I’ll transfer the full design fee to your account. Consider it my apology.”

Elaine had been listening to the people around them explain what had happened. By now she understood

the situation.

She stepped forward with a gentle smile.

“Let’s not push things too far.” she said. “Quinn, since the misunderstanding has been cleared up, there’s no need to keep pressing the issue.”

Quinn smiled again.

No matter the situation, Elaine always maintained the image of a generous, forgiving person in front of others.

Right now Quinn only wanted to leave.

So she used Elaine’s words as an excuse.

“Alright, I’ll listen to you,” she said. “But I’m not feeling very well tonight. I probably can’t join you for dinner.”

She knew Elaine well. Once she said she wasn’t feeling well, Elaine wouldn’t insist in front of so many people.

After all, Elaine needed to maintain the image of a caring mother.

“If you’re not feeling well, go home and get some rest,” Elaine said immediately. “Don’t push yourself.”

Quinn reached over and took Lucy’s arm.

Her eyes briefly paused on Julian. She didn’t say anything.

Then she turned and walked away with Lucy.

Chase didn’t dare cause a scene in front of Julian. Just as he was about to try speaking to Julian again, he saw Julian already striding toward the exit in the same direction Quinn had gone.

Elaine called after him.

“Chase, traffic was terrible earlier and we’re already late. Hurry and take the professors to dinner. Everyone must be starving by now.”
