Chapter 112 A Quiet Day
Rosalie had already begun looking forward to the day she would fly back to Lakeshore City.
Flushed
Back in Lakeshore City, Quinn finished showering and lay down on her bed. The room was quiet, but she didn’t feel sleepy at all.
After staring at the ceiling for a long time, she finally got up and went to Lucy.
Lucy gave her a few melatonin tablets. After taking them, Quinn eventually fell asleep.
The next day the two of them stayed home the entire time. They had plans to visit Julian’s private museum that evening.
Because of the melatonin, Quinn actually slept fairly well.
Lucy also stayed home all day and kept her company.
In the afternoon, Quinn suddenly received a notification from her bank account.

A transfer had just come in. It was most likely the payment Harold had sent.
Lucy glanced at it and immediately said, “Good. At least he knows better. Don’t refuse it. Think of it as compensation for everything you went through.”
Quinn said, “Of course I’m taking it. Why wouldn’t I? I put real time and effort into that project. This money is something I earned.”
Lucy nodded. “Exactly. Quinn, tell me something honestly. What do you think about Julian?”
What
“Julian?” Quinn looked surprised. do you mean, what do I think? In what way?”
“Everything.” Lucy said, counting on her fingers. “His character, his looks, his abilities, his personality. Give me your honest opinion.”
“My opinion?” Quinn thought for a moment. “Honestly, everything about him seems impressive. Julian is probably the most outstanding man I’ve ever met.”
“”
“See? I told you he’s amazing.” Lucy leaned closer. “So what do you feel when you’re around him?”
“Feel?” Quinn paused and considered the question. “If I’m being honest… I feel a little intimidated by him.” Lucy blinked. “Intimidated? Why would you be intimidated by Julian?”
Quinn said, “You’re intimidated by him too.”
“That’s different,” Lucy said quickly. “I’m intimidated because he’s strict with me. Everyone else in the family spoils me, but he’s always serious with me. Why are you intimidated by him?”
Quinn thought about it before answering.
“It’s the way he carries himself. He feels powerful, like someone who’s always in control. There’s a certain

authority about him. Standing next to him makes it feel like we live in completely different worlds.”
Lucy immediately said, “Really? I don’t see it that way at all. I actually think Julian is pretty gentle with you.”
Quinn suddenly laughed.
Lucy blinked. “Why are you laughing? Did I say something wrong?”
“I just can’t imagine what Julian would look like if he were being gentle,” Quinn said. “Anyway, let’s stop talking about him. Tonight we’re going to look at those jewelry pieces. Is there anything we should pay attention to? Should we dress more formally?”
Lucy shook her head. “No need. It’s just his private collection. We can keep things casual. But Quinn, you really don’t feel anything else about him?”
“No,” Quinn said. “Mostly I just feel intimidated. Maybe a little admiration too. He’s very capable.”
Well, Julian is in trouble. She doesn’t feel that way about him at all.
She was about to bring up Quinn’s divorce when Quinn’s phone rang.
Quinn said, “Let me take this call first.”
It was Charles. She answered.
Charles said, “Quinn, I need to apologize. Last time I accused you of cheating. I believed a rumor and misunderstood the situation. I hope you’re not angry.”
Quinn said, “You heard I cheated… are you talking about the rumor involving Harold Whitman?”
“Yes,” Charles said. “Someone called me and said you were having an affair with Harold Whitman. Later I asked around and realized it was all a misunderstanding.”
Quinn replied calmly.
“You don’t need to apologize. You believed it because you already thought I was capable of something like that. If that’s how you see me, then the apology doesn’t really matter.”
Charles hesitated. “Well… you can’t blame me entirely. If someone tells you your spouse cheated, anyone would get angry.”

Quinn smiled faintly.
“People who actually trust me would at least question the rumor. But you didn’t ask me anything. You simply decided I was guilty.”
She paused before continuing, “I suppose this situation helped me understand how I’m really seen in your family.”
“Quinn…”
“You don’t need to say anything else,” she said. “Just make sure Chase appears in court on time. Everything

he did will be explained clearly to the judge. If you’re worried that the divorce might affect the company, you should persuade him to finalize the paperwork as soon as possible.”
After saying that, Quinn hung up.
Lucy had been listening nearby and immediately spoke up.
“Those people are all the same. They hurt someone first and then come back with an apology. What’s the point of that? If anyone told me you cheated, I would never believe it.”
Quinn said, “That’s why we’re friends.”
Lucy wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “We’re not just friends. We’re best friends.”
Quinn hugged her.
Not long after they finished dinner, Lucy’s phone buzzed with a message from Julian saying the car had arrived downstairs and they could come down.
The two of them had already planned their outfits.
Both wore light blue jeans, black sweaters, and white puffer jackets. Lucy linked arms with Quinn and kept telling jokes on the way downstairs, making Quinn laugh so much that the dimples on her cheeks never faded.
