The staff recognized them and knew better than to ask questions, so they simply led the group straight into a private room.
Lucy spotted Quinn the moment she walked in and waved enthusiastically. “Quinn, over here!”
The room was already buzzing. Someone was singing karaoke near the big screen, a few people were playing cards at one side of the table, and others were laughing over drinks and party games.
Julian’s arrival made the atmosphere shift just a little. People were still joking around, but they became more restrained than before. Even so, a few of them quickly tried to stir things up again.
“Lucy,” someone called out, grinning, “get Julian to join us. Let’s play truth or dare.”
Lucy rolled her eyes. “Seriously? Aren’t we a little old for that? That game feels straight out of middle school.”
Dylan laughed from the couch. “Come on, that’s a classic party game.”
While talking, he kept throwing exaggerated looks toward Lucy, clearly trying to signal something.
Lucy caught on almost immediately.
These people didn’t actually care about the game. They just wanted an excuse to pry open Julian’s mouth and ask the questions they had always been curious about but never dared bring up.
She clapped her hands decisively. “Fine. Let’s play.”
The rules were simple. Someone grabbed an empty beer bottle and placed it on the coffee table. Whoever spun it would let it rotate until it stopped. Wherever the neck of the bottle pointed, that person had to answer a question or take a dare.
What nobody expected was that the bottle’s first victim would be Quinn.
The bar had a thick stack of game cards for moments like this. Whoever got picked would draw one, and the card would decide the question.
Lucy leaned close to Quinn, whispering the rules into her ear, but before she even finished explaining, the people around the table had already started cheering.
Lucy looked down and realized the bottle had stopped.
The neck was pointing directly at Quinn.
She immediately leaned closer and whispered, “Pick truth.”
Some of the dares in these games could get ridiculous, and sometimes even inappropriate. Other people might laugh it off, but Quinn definitely wouldn’t enjoy that kind of attention.
Quinn hadn’t planned on playing at all. Lucy had pulled her down onto the couch, and now somehow she was the first one chosen.
With everyone watching, she had no choice but to answer calmly.
“Truth.”

Chapter 121 The Party Game
She and Lucy were sitting in the corner of the couch. Lucy sat on her left, the armrest on her right.
Julian sat next to Lucy.
When the bottle stopped on Quinn, his expression changed slightly, the look in his eyes becoming harder to read.
Aside from Zeke and Dylan, no one else in the room had ever met Quinn before.
From what they could tell, she seemed to be Lucy’s friend.
But she had come upstairs with Julian.
That alone was unusual.

Everyone knew Julian never brought women anywhere, and they certainly had never seen him walk into a room behind a woman with that kind of patience.
Since Julian hadn’t introduced Quinn, nobody dared ask who she was.
But a party game was different.
Dylan had noticed Quinn the last time he saw her, and she had already left an impression on him

He leaned forward slightly and set the glass down on the coffee table.
The crisp sound of glass touching wood wasn’t loud, but it cut cleanly through the noise.
Gradually, the room fell silent. Julian looked at Quinn.
There was a silent question in his eyes. Quinn didn’t know why, but at that exact moment she looked back at him.
And somehow she understood. He was asking whether the question made her uncomfortable.
If she wanted to leave, he would take her out of the room immediately.
Quinn didn’t want to ruin Lucy’s fun. It was obvious Lucy enjoyed these loud games and chaotic parties.
So she answered simply, “No.”
Her expression stayed calm, and her eyes remained steady. Whispers began spreading around the room.
Dylan tilted his head. “You mean not recently, or…?”
Quinn ignored the curious looks around her. “Not recently.”
“That still counts,” someone insisted. “You have to give a time.”
“The question asks about recently,” Quinn replied.
“Exactly,” another voice said. “Recently means the most recent time before now.”
