Chapter 130 New Year’s Night

Chapter 130 New Year’s Night

“It’ll get better.” Quinn said. “A new year is coming up. A fresh start. Things will only get better from here”

“That reminds me,” Lucy said. “You promised to celebrate New Year’s Eve with me.”

“Right,” Quinn said. “Should I come over to your place?”

“I’m taking you somewhere fun,” Lucy said excitedly. “We’re going out tonight!”

Quinn smiled. “Sounds good.”

After hanging up, Lucy thought for a moment. Then she happily sent Julian a message.

Lucy sent a message, “I got Quinn to hang out with me on New Year’s Eve!”

Julian did not reply with words. Instead, he sent a money transfer. A reward.

Lucy accepted it immediately.

Julian sent money even more generously than her dad. At this rate, she would not need to ask her parents for spending money

anymore.

Soon it was December thirty-first.

Lucy drove her newly repaired car to pick Quinn up, then headed toward a private club. Quinn had no idea that tonight she would get drunk and end up sharing an unspeakable moment with Julian.

Lucy had been to this club a few times before.

It was members-only. Without a certain level of status, you could not get inside.

For the wealthy second-generation crowd in Lakeshore City, this place was practically their headquarters.

Lucy walked in with Quinn, explaining things as they went.

“Quinn?”

A slightly familiar voice called from behind them. Both women turned. It was Jess.

“Jess!”

“Jess!”

Jess walked over quickly.

She wore a sleek jumpsuit with a fitted blazer, looking sharp and confident.

“You two are here too?” Jess smiled. “Celebrating New Year’s?”

“Yeah,” Lucy said, grabbing her arm. “Did you come with friends? Want to join us?”

Quinn nodded. “If that’s okay.”

“I came with some people,” Jess said. “But I barely know them. I was just tagging along for fun. Running into you two is perfect.”

Lucy made the decision immediately.

“Then you’re with us.”

The three women chatted and laughed as they headed upstairs.

Very few people had ever entered Julian’s private suite.

Even when he did not come, the club kept a room reserved for him, and it happened to be the best location in the entire building.

After all, Julian’s status in Lakeshore City spoke for itself.

Anything associated with his name carried weight. Out of all the private clubs in the city, this one stood above the rest for a reason.

Of course, not everyone had the privilege of using Julian’s name.

Even reserving a room for him depended on whether he was willing to acknowledge it.

The club owner happened to have a good relationship with Zeke. Through that connection, they were able to keep a suite ready for Julian.

Just attaching Julian’s name to the room was enough to attract wealthy young elites willing to spend money without hesitation.

Tonight was New Year’s Eve.

The entire club glowed with dazzling lights, looking like a glittering world of luxury and indulgence.

Lucy came from a wealthy family herself. On top of that, she was close to Julian.

Even though she normally did not socialize much with these rich kids, many people still came over to greet her.

After all, she was Julian’s cousin. Lucy grabbed Quinn with one hand and Jess with the other, guiding them to a seat.

Julian was not there yet. Neither was Zeke. They probably had not arrived.

The three women sat in a corner, chatting happily.

Jess had an easygoing personality and a great sense of humor. Quinn already liked her, and after talking more, they clicked immediately.

It almost felt like they had met too late.

The private suite was large, and groups of familiar friends naturally formed their own little circles.

Several people came over to greet Lucy.

Some had never met Quinn before and tried to figure out who she was.

Lucy chased them away.

Men and women alike all seemed to have their own agendas. She had no interest in dealing with them.

Chapter 130 New Year’s Night

Suddenly there was a commotion at the entrance. Then everything quieted.

All three women turned to look.

Julian and Zeke had arrived. Julian walked in first.

He was tall with broad shoulders and a lean waist. Tonight he wore a black stand-collar cardigan sweater, with a cashmere coat draped over his arm.

“Julian looks so young today!” Lucy said excitedly, pulling the other two to their feet. “Let’s go over!”

Julian had already noticed them from across the room.

The quiet crowd began to stir as people greeted him.

Julian nodded slightly as he walked forward with long, confident strides.

“Julian!” Lucy said happily, pulling Quinn and Jess with her. “You’re here! This is Jess. You met her before. Jess, this is my cousin!*

Jess smiled politely. “Nice to meet you, Julian.”

Julian nodded. “Nice to meet you.”

Then he looked at Quinn.

“You moved out?”

A faint, distant smile rested on Quinn’s lips.

“Yes,” she said. “I moved out.”

Behind them, Zeke spoke up, “Don’t just stand there. Sit down.”
