Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by My Mr. Right
Chapter 224 Drawing the Line
Their first kiss should have meant something more.
It shouldn’t come out of anger, or control, or as some kind of punishment.
Even if that kiss had been real, even if it carried everything he hadn’t said out loud.
He still stopped.
Her clothes were slightly out of place, the fabric wrinkled where his hands had held her.
Julian sat back on the edge of the bed, his breathing still uneven as he tried to steady himself.
Finished
Quinn quickly looked away, pulling her clothes back into place, her hands moving instinctively as if that could restore some sense of distance between them.
“Quinn,” Julian said, his voice low, still edged with frustration he hadn’t fully let
go of.
She froze at the sound of her name.
“If you try to leave like that again,” he continued, his tone tightening, “I’m not going to let it go next time.”
Her cheeks were still flushed, soft and pink, making her look almost too delicate, like something just on the verge of opening.
Julian glanced at her, then forced himself to look away.
He couldn’t keep looking.
Not like this. Because he knew exactly how close he had been to losing control.
“I’m sorry,” Quinn said quietly..
She could see it now, the restraint, the way he had stopped himself when he didn’t have to.
She hadn’t expected that. When he kissed her, she had already stopped resisting.
Her body hadn’t rejected him at all.
If anything, it had responded.
There had even been a moment where she wanted him to keep going.
Why do I even feel like that…
The realization made her chest tighten with embarrassment.
“You still know how to say sorry,” Julian said, glancing back at her despite himself.
“I won’t leave without telling you,” Quinn replied, keeping her eyes away from him, anywhere but his bare chest. “I’ll say something first.”

“So you’re still planning to leave,” Julian said, his tone sharpening again.
He leaned forward, bracing his hands on either side of her, bringing himself back into her space without fully closing the distance this time.
“Quinn, just say you’re staying,” he said, his voice lower now, steadier but no less intense. “Say you’re not going anywhere.”
His gaze was too much, too direct, too easy to get lost in.
She couldn’t handle it.
Quinn shut her eyes tightly and raised a hand to cover part of her face. “Don’t make me say it…”
“If I were actually forcing you,” Julian said, reaching up to pull her hand away so she had to face him again, “I wouldn’t have stopped earlier.”
Quinn turned her head to the side, avoiding his eyes, feeling like if she looked any longer she would give in without meaning to.
“…Then I’ll leave tomorrow,” she said after a pause.
“Tomorrow doesn’t work,” Julian replied.
She looked back at him, confused. “Why not?”
“We’re finalizing your divorce,” he said plainly. “You and Chase.”
He had been waiting, holding himself back with more patience than anyone would have expected, like someone who knew exactly when to move and refused to act too soon.
But once the moment came, he wouldn’t hesitate.
Quinn couldn’t help but think back to how he had just pinned her down, how easily he had controlled the situation.
A small shiver ran through her.
Julian had an incredible amount of self–control.
But that made it worse in a different way.
Because if he ever stopped holding back, she didn’t think she could handle it.
She didn’t let herself think too far ahead.
Even without experience, she could feel the risk in it, something unknown and a little frightening.
It made her instinctively want to keep some distance.
Even after the divorce.
Chapter 224 Drawing the Line
Being close to him felt dangerous in a way she couldn’t fully explain.
Like one day, he might completely lose control, and she would have nowhere to run.
That instinct wasn’t wrong.
Finished
There would come a day when he stopped holding back entirely, when he pulled her in again and didn’t stop halfway.
But not today.
Still, the way he looked at her now was already enough to make her uneasy.
Julian was a man, and not just any man, but one with discipline, strength, and control. The fact that he had never been with anyone didn’t mean he didn’t have needs.
It just meant he had never settled, never allowed himself to act without meaning.
And because of that, because he had kept everything in check for so long, the only person who had ever made him feel this way was her.
Just now, he had almost crossed that line. But it wasn’t the right moment.
That was why he was pushing her to end things with Chase first.
Julian’s expression cooled slightly as he looked at her. “Are you backing out now?”
Quinn answered immediately, her voice firm despite everything. “Backing out of what, I’m getting divorced, that hasn’t changed.”
She hesitated, then added, “I’ll go by myself this time. He won’t try anything again.”
She didn’t want Julian involved.
Didn’t want anything about this tied back to him.
“I’ll take you,” Julian said. “I won’t show up, I’ll just drive.”
“…Okay.” Quinn nodded, her face still warm as she avoided looking at him. “You should get dressed first, seriously, you’re going to catch a cold.”
Julian’s tone softened, just a little. “You’re worried about me now?”
Quinn kept her eyes down. “And stop taking freezing showers like that, you’re going to make yourself sick.”
