Chapter 256 Pure Possessiveness
Bringing Lucy along as a third wheel was Julian’s only option.
Otherwise, Quinn would never agree to go out with him alone.
Quinn said, “My sister might be coming back from abroad this weekend. I’m not sure if I’ll be free.”
Frushed
She wasn’t planning to attend the family dinner where Rosalie would introduce her boyfriend to their parents, but if Rosalie were coming home, she would have to go back too.
“Then we won’t go anywhere else. If you’re free, we can just have dinner. Would that be okay?”
Quinn looked into his deep eyes and couldn’t bring herself to say no.
“So you walked Julian downstairs, and he walked you right back up, and you two lingered at the door chatting for ages?”
Once Julian left, Lucy summed up their whole routine.
Quinn felt shy. “We weren’t lingering…”
Lucy had been wheeling herself toward the door to grab something when she opened it and jumped at the sight of Julian and Quinn.
She’d thought they hadn’t even gone downstairs yet.
But instead, they’d walked each other back and forth, ending up whispering and acting all lovey–dovey at the door…
How was that any different
“Why don’t you two just get together already!“, are you really making him chase you?”
you!”
Quinn hurried toward her bedroom. “I’m not talking to you!”
She paused at the door and remembered. “Lucy, let me help you bathe.”
Lucy nodded quickly. “Sure! Let’s bathe together!”
Back when they were at school, their dorm had a private bathroom, but on certain occasions, they’d used the communal showers.
They’d seen each other plenty of times and were completely used to it.
After their bath, Lucy noticed a message from Julian.
Even before opening it, she had a feeling it was about Quinn.
Otherwise, Julian would never message her out of the blue.
She checked it, and sure enough.
Chapter 257 Hidden Jealousy
None of her efforts had gone to waste.
In her world, among everyone she knew, someone of Julian’s standing was extremely rare.
indied
For ordinary people, they might never cross paths with someone as influential as him their entire lives.
It was nearly impossible for a regular person to marry into wealth.
Even celebrities struggled to do it, let alone someone average.
Rosalie’s family wasn’t particularly wealthy among overseas students–at best, middle–class.
Social divisions were even more obvious abroad, with strict unspoken rules in each circle. Rosalie had worked incredibly hard just to fit in with the local elite crowd.
Even then, she could never reach those at the very top.
And Julian was far above all of them.
This trip home, she was determined to win him over–ideally all the way to marriage.
Rosalie was a realistic person. She didn’t believe in romantic love; she only cared about practical benefits.
She knew exactly what she wanted.
Over the years, she’d carefully maintained a certain image in front of Julian.
Once they met in person and spent time together, some things might slip.
She could pretend forever, but it would be exhausting.
The best plan was to marry him. Even if they divorced later, she’d walk away with a huge fortune.
And with Julian’s help, she would easily enter high society.
As for whether he would marry her, she was about eighty to ninety percent sure.
After all, during their conversations, Julian had shown immense interest in her.
She prided herself on knowing how to play into a man’s desires.
Once they met face–to–face, she would make him completely obsessed with her.
She’d turned down his offer to pick her up from the airport, wanting to keep him on edge a little longer.
Only by building up his anticipation would he value her more when they finally met.
On Rosalie’s first day back, Elaine called Quinn and asked her to come to the airport too.
Quinn agreed.

Chapter 257 Hidden Jealousy
After all. Rosalie was still her sister in name,
Elaine wanted her there, so she would go.
They arrived at the airport early and waited nearly two hours before Rosalie finally appeared.
Elaine and Victor teared up immediately.
Rosalie’s eyes glistened too.
She hugged Elaine for a long time. Only when they pulled apart did she glance at Quinn.
Seeing Quinn, she kept her expression calm, but her heart skipped a beat.
The last time Rosalie had come home was seven or eight months ago.
Back then. Quinn was still married to Chase and utterly miserable.
She’d looked defeated, lifeless, with a dull, pale complexion.
But now…
Even with no makeup on, her skin was smooth and fair, glowing with youth. Her clothes were simple, yet she radiated an irresistible charm.
Rosalie had always considered herself superior and looked down on her so–called sister.
She’d always thought Quinn only had a prettier face, nothing else.
But seeing Quinn now, jealousy flared inside her like wild grass.
She wanted to see a worn–out, helpless, haggard Quinn.
The last thing she wanted was to see her still young, beautiful, vibrant, and utterly captivating.
Despite her inner turmoil, Rosalie had always been excellent at putting on a polite front in public.
