Chapter 262 I Crave Touching You
Right after he spoke, Quinn stumbled again.
Julian quickly reached out and caught her once more.
Quinn found herself pressed against his chest for the second time.
Julian’s voice was warm with amusement. “Quinn, if you wanted a hug, you could’ve just said so.”
Quinn was mortified. She snapped back, flustered and defensive, “I didn’t!”
Why did I always embarrass myself in front of him?

She’d nearly fallen and landed in his arms moments ago, and right after he let go, she almost tripped again.
It really looked like she’d done it on purpose just to be held by him.
But she hadn’t meant to at all.
At this point, no explanation would sound believable.
Julian chuckled softly. “Alright, you didn’t.”
His tone made it obvious he didn’t believe her at all.
Quinn squirmed slightly. “Let me go!”
Julian eased back a little but kept his hand gently on her waist. “You sure you won’t fall again?”
Quinn’s face was bright red. “I won’t!”
Suddenly Julian called out, “Watch out!”
Quinn flinched and leaned toward him instinctively.
This time Julian couldn’t hold back his laughter. He reached out and pinched her cheek lightly. “How are you this cute?”
Quinn was so embarrassed she was almost angry. She mustered up a burst of courage, punched his arm lightly, then turned and ran away.
Julian was tall and quick on his feet. He caught up with her in two steps and took her hand. “Running away? Don’t you want to fall again?”
“I won’t fall!” Quinn practically whined. “That was just an accident.”
“Okay, okay. Slow down then,” Julian said, stopping his teasing. “I won’t mess with you anymore. Don’t be mad, okay?”
“I wasn’t trying to get you to hug me,” Quinn said, her eyes stinging a little. “How could you think that of

“Alright, I’m sorry. I was wrong,” Julian said, his voice growing softer. “I shouldn’t have thought that. It was my mistake.”
“It really was!” Quinn said, feeling more and more wronged. “I would never do that. I don’t even want your hugs!”
“Don’t want them?”
Quinn heard a faint coolness in his voice and glanced up at him nervously.
Deep down, she was still a little afraid of Julian, even though she liked him.
She bit her lower lip and shook her head.
She didn’t want them… or at least she told herself that.
Julian let out a quiet sigh. “But I do. I’ve dreamed about it–holding your hand, getting to hug you… Quinn, thank you. You just made my wish come true.”
“It wasn’t like that…” Quinn felt a rush of guilt hearing how sincere he sounded. “Don’t say that.”
“Wasn’t like what?” Julian looked down at her. “I’m only telling the truth. I respect you and hold back, but honestly… I crave touching you. I want to be close to you because I like you.”
“Stop talking,” Quinn mumbled.
She covered her face with her hands, her ears burning hot.
“Alright, I’ll stop.”
Julian gently pulled her hands away. “Let’s go.”
This time Quinn walked quietly and obediently.
At first she didn’t notice, but once her mind cleared, she realized Julian was still holding her hand.
They’d had far more intimate moments before, but they’d never held hands like this, just normally and calmly.
All their previous touches had been when she was drunk, or when Julian had asked her for some kind of compensation.
But this time… it was different.
Quinn immediately tried to pull her fingers away.
Julian felt her movement and tightened his grip slightly.
“Let go,” she whispered in protest.
“Okay.”

Julian didn’t insist. He let go of her hand at once.
Quinn quickly stuffed her hands into her coat pockets.
