If she and Julian never ended up together, she could never just treat him like a brother.

“Julian texted me and told me not to rush you,” Lucy said. “What were you two doing out so late? Wait–did you cry, Quinn?”

“No…” Quinn didn’t want her to worry. “The wind was strong outside. It got in my eyes.”

“I thought Julian was messing with you again,” Lucy said. “Glad you’re okay.”

By the time Quinn lay down in bed, it was nearly midnight.

She replayed the whole day in her head, but the most vivid memory was the embarrassing moment she’d ended up straddling Julian.

Nothing else had hit her quite that hard.

She buried her face in the blanket, still unable to fight the flush of embarrassment even when she was

alone.

The sadness and bitterness Rosalie’s return had brought her were completely overshadowed by that

memory.

Quinn thought to herself that only Julian could be this charming–only he could make her forget all her pain.

Early the next morning, she got a message from Rosalie.

She was going shopping and wanted Quinn to come with her.

She wasn’t going to let Rosalie manipulate her like she used to.

Besides, she’d finally recognized her own feelings and knew what it meant to really fall for someone.

There was no way she would ever go back to Chase.
