Chapter 267 No Where to Go

Quinn couldn’t focus on a single word Rosalie said after that.

She couldn’t care about anything else. She stood up and left without another word.

Rosalie stared after her in disbelief. Quinn! Where are you going?!

Quinn didn’t look back.

She sat in the taxi, her mind completely blank.

After a long while, she took a deep breath, and tears burst from her eyes.

How could this be happening?

Why would Julian do this to me?

Her phone suddenly rang. Quinn answered numbly. Hello?

Quinn?Julian’s voice came through the line. You went out? I’m already here. Where are you?

I…” Quinn sniffled. Something came up suddenly. I can’t make lunch. I’m sorry.

Are you crying? What’s wrong?

Before Julian could finish, she hung up.

Quinn couldn’t hold back any longer. She bent over and cried silently into her knees.

Her phone rang again, but she ignored it, not listening or looking.

Eventually, even the driver spoke up. You okay, miss? Something happen?

Quinn quickly wiped her tears. I’m fine, thank you. Justdrop me off here, please.

She’d meant to go back to Lucy’s place, but she couldn’t face anyone right now.

She wanted to go somewhere quiet and be alone.

But as she spoke, she realized she had nowhere to go at all.

The taxi finally pulled over at a random street. She got out.

The weather was nice that daybright sunshine, warm on her skin.

But her heart felt icecold.

She turned her phone off, wanting no messages, no voices, no contact with anyone.

She shut herself off completely.

Chapter 267 No Where to Go

Finished

There was a bus stop nearby. She sat down on the wooden bench and stared blankly into space, like she’d lost all sense.

Time passed. A shadow fell over her.

She looked up and saw Julian standing over her, his face tight with anger.

She froze, thinking she was hallucinating.

The corner of her mouth twitched up in a halfsmile that died at once, and she wanted to cry again.

When Julian saw her face, his anger and worry melted instantly into heartache.

It was freezing outside, and she’d been sitting on the street for God knew how long.

He didn’t waste another second. He grabbed her hands, and they were icecold.

What are you doing out here?

He grouched down, wrapped her hands between his own, and looked up at her.

Quinn said nothing, just stared at him as tears rolled down her cheeks one after another.

Julian’s heart ached so badly he didn’t know what to do.

He’d heard something wrong in her voice on the phone, but then he couldn’t reach her at all.

He’d had no choice but to use his connections, have his men track the security cameras, and finally lock onto her location.

She’d left a café, gotten into a taxi, and gotten out halfway down the road.

Then she’d just sat there on that bench, like she was lost, until he found her.

Julian didn’t have the heart to question her or stay angry.

All he felt was painpain that she wouldn’t take care of herself.

Sitting out in this cold, especially only days after her surgeryhow could her body take it?

Without overthinking it, he let go of her hands and lifted her into his arms, bridalstyle.

Her coat was cold through and through.

It was the deepest part of winter, and the temperature was especially low. Quinn felt nearly frozen solid.

Julian carried her straight to his car.
