Chapter 309 Perfect Together

Julian had made arrangements before he left, telling his men to take Quinn for her follow–up appointment.

“What about you?” Quinn asked. “Was it hard getting used to life abroad? You look a little thinner.”

Julian had indeed lost some weight, but it only made his handsome features sharper and more striking.

He looked right at her. “Work kept me busy… and I missed you.”

Quinn’s face flushed bright red at once.

She quickly looked down and took a sip of water.

His sweet words always caught her completely off guard.

“Christmas is almost here,” Julian said. “I’ll be pretty busy over the holiday and won’t have much time to see you. That’s why I came straight here after landing. I hope you don’t mind.”

“I don’t mind at all,” Quinn said. “Just focus on your work. I’ll be fine…”

“How are you planning to spend the holiday?” he asked. “Are you going back to the Lane Villa?”

Quinn shook her head. “No. I… I’ll just spend it alone.”

Julian frowned immediately. “What if you stay with Lucy? Would that be okay?”

“Huh?” Quinn blinked, then shook her head. “I can’t. It’s a family holiday. I’d be in the way.”

She’d met Lucy’s mother before, a very kind woman, but she would never intrude on someone else’s family time.

“Why not?” Julian said. “You two are so close. Even without me, it’d be perfectly normal for you to stay

over.”

“I really can’t…”

“I won’t let you be alone,” Julian said. “I’ll ask Lucy.”

“Don’t!” Quinn hurriedly grabbed his hand as he reached for his phone. “I’m not going.”

Julian’s gaze dropped to her fingers–pale, slender, and beautiful.

Quinn quickly tried to pull her hand away, but he was faster and caught her wrist.

A warm, burning sensation spread over the spot where he touched her.

“Quinn…”

He held her gently, unwilling to let go.

“Is it okay… if I hold your hand?”

Quinn looked away, saying nothing, but her ears turned bright pink.

Julian held back everything else. When she didn’t answer, he slowly prepared to let go.

But just as his hand was about to leave her wrist, her fingertips brushed lightly against his.

Julian’s heart leaped. He didn’t hesitate and laced his fingers through hers, holding her hand tightly.

“Promise me you’ll stay with Lucy,” he said. “Otherwise, I’ll come stay with you instead.”

“Don’t…”

She knew Julian would be swamped over Christmas.

The Sterling family was huge, with lots of traditions and formalities.

He couldn’t possibly put all that aside just to be with her.

“I’m not going,” she said. “I’m used to being alone. The holiday won’t be so bad.”

“Are you really sure?”

“Really.”

Quinn just couldn’t bring herself to impose on someone else’s holiday.

“Alright,” Julian said. “Then let me go shopping for Christmas supplies with you after this.”

Quinn nodded. “Okay.”

When they walked out of the restaurant, they weren’t holding hands.

Quinn was far too shy to be so affectionate with him in public.

Rosalie spotted them immediately.

Hate it as she did, Julian was tall and breathtakingly handsome, Quinn bright and lovely–together, they looked perfectly, undeniably right for each other.
