Chapter 320 The Same Old Trick

Quinn wanted nothing to do with him and didn’t bother saying more. She only hummed in response and tugged Julian along to leave.
“Quinn,” Rosalie spoke up. “Some things never change. You were messy with relationships back in school, and now you’re just shameless–running around as someone’s other woman.”
Before Quinn could even react, Julian fixed her with a furious glare.
His voice was icy. “What is that supposed to mean? Spreading lies about someone can lead to legal consequences.”
“I’m not lying about her,” Rosalie insisted. “Lots of our old classmates know what she was like.”
Chase stepped in, frustrated. “What are you even talking about, calling her the other woman?”
“Mr. Sterling,” Rosalie turned to Julian. “You know Clara, don’t you?”
Chase honestly admired Rosalie’s nerve.
He never would’ve dared confront Julian so directly.
It was the fear rooted in him since childhood–he’d always looked up to Julian like he was untouchable.
So even when he found out Julian was pursuing Quinn, he only let himself hurt in silence, never daring to question him.
But Rosalie charged right in.
He couldn’t compare.
He glanced at Julian, hoping for an answer even though he was too scared to ask himself.
At the sound of that name, the doubt and uneasiness Quinn had buried deep inside rushed back to the surface.
It wasn’t that she didn’t believe Julian’s feelings for her.
She just… didn’t have enough faith in herself.
Compared to Clara, she had hardly any advantages to speak of.
Family background alone put Clara leagues above her.
Her hand twitched slightly in Julian’s palm, but he only held her tighter.
He looked back at Rosalie, his tone frigid. “I know who she is. So what?”
“I heard she’s your fiancée, Rosalie said, finally earning his full attention and straightening her posture.
Having a fiancée might complicate things, but if she could use this to make Julian notice her charm, it

“Heard? Heard from who?” Julian’s voice turned even colder. “I wasn’t aware I had a fiancée.”
Rosalie froze, then said, “Mr. Sterling, you may be powerful and wealthy in Lakeshore City, far beyond ordinary people like us. But even so, you can’t take advantage of Quinn!”
She reached for Quinn’s hand. “Quinn, we may not be rich, but we can’t lose our dignity! We shouldn’t become some rich man’s other woman, not even for a better life!”
Her words sounded righteous and firm, as if she held unshakable morals.
But before she could touch Quinn, Quinn stepped back, out of her reach.
Rosalie stared at her in disbelief. “Quinn? You… you can’t be serious. What did Mom and Dad teach you? I stayed true to myself even with all the temptations abroad. How could you…?”
Tears welled in her eyes. “You’ve broken my heart. How could I have a sister with no morals?”
Quinn watched her act in cold silence.
This was always Rosalie’s way.
She’d smear Quinn with baseless accusations just to make herself look better.
Seeing her pull the same old trick only made Quinn laugh.
People used to fall for her lies so easily.
