Chapter 334 Hiding the Truth
He said, “I just got home. But… I already want to head back to you. I should’ve asked
you
face-to-face.”
Quinn felt shy all over. “It’s really late. You should get some rest.”
“I don’t think I can sleep,” Julian said. “I’m busy in the morning, but let’s meet in the afternoon.”
Quinn whispered, “Okay.”
“Wait for me at home.” Julian said. “I’ll come pick you up.”
After hanging up, Quinn lay awake for a long time before finally falling asleep.
When she woke up, she stared at their chat history and call log, making sure last night hadn’t just been a dream.
She was really with Julian now.
She was his girlfriend.
It still felt unreal, like she was dreaming.
After a while, she lightly patted her cheeks, washed up, and headed out to visit Adele.
On the way. Elaine called again.
She hesitated, then answered. “Mom, Happy Holidays. I hope you and Dad stay healthy.”
Elaine laughed warmly. “Happy Holidays to you too, sweetie. Come home. Your dad, your sister, and I are all waiting for you.”
Quinn said, “I have plans, so I can’t make it. And please don’t bring up getting back together with Chase anymore. It’s never going to happen.”
“We won’t,” Elaine said. “You’re a grown woman. We wouldn’t force you into anything you don’t want.”
Quinn almost laughed.
Forcing her into things was all they’d ever done her whole life.
She asked, “So you really won’t push me to remarry him?”
“Not at all,” Elaine said. “If he isn’t right for you, we support your decision.”
Quinn remembered Elaine had changed her attitude once before-back when they thought she’d hooked up with some rich guy and wanted a divorce.
What was it this time?
Thinking about the online rumors and the official statement from Apex Group, she knew exactly what was going on.

Chapter 334 Hiding the Truth
Finished
Elaine had found out she was seeing Julian, and that was why her tone had done a complete 180.
Quinn thought for a moment, then said. “Alright, thanks, Mom. Actually, there’s something I wanted to tell you.”
Elaine perked up at once. “Is it about your boyfriend?”
Quinn said. “Yeah. I’ve started seeing someone…
“That’s wonderful!” Elaine cheered. “Bring him home to meet us over the holiday!”
Quinn said. “I’d like to, but he has to work these days.”
“Work on the holidays?”
“Overtime pays triple.” Quinn explained. “He wants to save up more to buy a place in Lakeshore City.”
Elaine froze. “W-what do you mean?”
Quinn asked. “What’s wrong?”
“Does he… not own a place in Lakeshore City?”
“Nope,” Quinn said. “He lives in the company dorm. But he works really hard, stays late all the time, and has saved up over 100 thousand dollars in the past couple years.”
Elaine needed a moment to process this. “Your boyfriend… who is he exactly?”
“You’ll meet him when I bring him home. You wouldn’t know him if I told you now. He’s from a small village, his parents don’t have steady jobs, and he’s the oldest kid… His family background isn’t great, but we’ll build a good life ourselves through hard work!”
“Wait a second!” Elaine cut in. “He has no house, and he’s from the countryside? This is your boyfriend?”
