Chapter 335 Quinn’s Little Lie
“Yes,” Quinn said. “He might not have much, but he treats me really well.”
“You-you-” Elaine was too angry to speak. “Is this really true?”
Quinn raised an eyebrow, “Why would I lie?”
Elaine snapped before she could think. “Isn’t your boyfriend Julian Sterling?”
“Who told you that? What would Julian Sterling have to do with me?”
“Everyone online says he’s chasing you!”
“You believe everything on the internet?” Quinn said. “It’s all fake.”
Emished
“I won’t allow it!” Elaine shrilled. “That boyfriend of yours is so far beneath you. What are you thinking?”
“You said you’d support my decision.”
“When did I say I’d support you dating some country boy?”
“So
you only support me if I date someone rich, and object if he’s not?”
“I’m your mother, I’m looking out for you! If you marry someone with nothing, what kind of hard life will you have?”
“How I live my life is my own choice,” Quinn said. “If you really want to wish me well, you’d accept whoever I’m with-”
“It’s not the same! What parent doesn’t want their child to marry well?”
Quinn said, “What if he has a car, a house, and a good job?”
“What are you trying to say? What does your boyfriend even do?”
Elaine was seconds from demanding: Is he Julian Sterling or not?\
Quinn said, “It’s true every parent wants their kids to be happy. Money matters, but I care more about whether we love each other and see things the same way.”
“You’re too young to know how important money is. I’ve lived longer. Would I lie to you?” Elaine pleaded. “Why won’t you listen?”
“What if I insist on being with him anyway?”
“I disown you!” Elaine said. “If you really stay with him, you’re no longer my daughter.”
Elaine hung up furiously. After calming down a little, she called Rosalie. “Didn’t you say you saw them together? Why did Quinn act like her boyfriend isn’t Julian at all?”
“That’s impossible!” Rosalie froze. “I saw it with my own eyes! They were shopping together!”

Chapter 335 Quinn’s Little Lie
Finished
Elaine said, “Maybe he was just messing around and dumped her. She mentioned some village kid likes her.”
Rosalie lit up at once. “Really?”
“Why are you happy about this?” Elaine snapped. “This is a disaster! If she marries some nobody from the countryside. I’ll never live this down.”
“So what? She chose him. Whatever happens to her is her own fault.”
Rosalie had been miserable all day, but once she heard Quinn was supposedly dating a poor villager and that Julian probably only saw her as a fling, her hope returned.
It made sense. Someone like Julian would never take Quinn seriously.
They aren’t from the same world. And Quinn is divorced. She can never marry into a family like the Sterlings.
I overreacted earlier.
So what if I saw them shopping together?
Julian’s status alone means he’ll never commit to her for real.
Dating is one thing.
Marriage is completely out of the question.
