Chapter 336 A Calculated Apology

“Mom, do you really think an orphan like her could marry into a wealthy family-especially the Sterlings?” Rosalie said.
“But she still can’t date some country boy and embarrass me like this!”
“I’ll get myself a proper man.” Rosalie said. “Our relationship with her is already bad anyway. We can just cut her off. Let her marry whoever she wants and live however she likes-we won’t care.”
Elaine huffed. “I raised her for all these years for nothing. Ungrateful brat.”
Rosalie spoke as if she didn’t care about Quinn at all, but she had her own plans.
For one, she wanted to fix things with Chase as soon as possible.
She also hoped to get closer to Julian through Quinn-anything was better than fawning over Julian’s assistant.
She decided to act right away.
She texted Chase first, then reached out to Quinn.
Quinn had never lied to Elaine before.
But she had no choice. She couldn’t imagine what her mother would do if she found out Julian was her boyfriend.
Quinn didn’t want fake kindness.
It was clear Elaine’s attitude toward her depended entirely on who she married.
Deep down, she knew she still wasn’t strong enough on her own.
She had to grow up fast.
When she saw Rosalie’s message, she almost laughed.
Rosalie was apologizing and even wanted to say sorry to Julian in person.
It wasn’t that Quinn thought the worst of people,
She just couldn’t trust Rosalie’s character.
Would Rosalie sincerely apologize to her or Julian?
Quinn didn’t believe it for a second.
She had no idea what trick Rosalie was pulling this time.
Rosalie definitely had an agenda.

Chapter 336 A Calculated Apology
She’d planned to use the holiday to mend things with Chase, but he’d only replied to her Christmas greeting and ignored every message after that.
Once, he would’ve flooded her with texts all day long.
Not only that-every holiday brought her expensive gifts: Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day.
But this year, all she got was a short message.
Thinking about the upcoming holidays made Rosalie panic.
Whatever else happened, she had to win Chase back first.
She texted him, but he didn’t reply.
Rosalie then messaged a few friends and asked them for help.
That afternoon, she went to a bar and spotted Chase exactly as she’d expected.
Chase had been dragged out by his friends.

He’d spent the morning visiting relatives, but this holiday had been especially miserable-nothing had gone his way.
When his friends invited him for drinks, he agreed immediately.
Once there, he barely spoke, just drinking silently.
When he saw Rosalie, he didn’t react at all.
Rosalie said hello, then chatted with other friends, acting as if she no longer cared about him.
Chase felt relieved.
He found his own behavior ridiculous.
After all those years, he’d never realized who he truly loved-the one he’d ignored all along
He’d been married to Quinn for three years and never understood his own feelings.
Only after the divorce did he figure out who had his heart.
It was bitterly ironic.
But it was too late now.
If Quinn had been dating anyone else, he would’ve fought for her.
But that man was Julian-he had no right, no status, no chance to compete with him.
And as for Rosalie? He didn’t feel he owed her anything.
