Chapter 350 Starved for Affection
Last time they kissed. Julian had nearly kissed her lips swollen.
He wanted to hold her and stay close to her every single moment.
Quinn was actually a little intimidated.

She never would have guessed that someone like Julian would turn into a completely different person when in love.
He’d grown clingy, pouty, and ridiculously jealous.
He was nothing like the stern CEO she’d first known.
Still. Quinn thought this side of him was adorable.
It just gave her one more reason to fall for him.
Before long, the holiday break was over, and Julian was back at work.
Things were especially busy right after the break, and he’d even gone on a two-day out-of-town business trip.
One day, Quinn returned to Lane Villa.
Elaine’s birthday was coming up soon, so she stopped by early with gifts: health supplements, a birthday present, and an envelope with cash.
No matter what, she wanted to fulfill her filial duties.
But when she arrived, Elaine was surprisingly warm toward her.
Rosalie was there too, looking unhappy, but at least she didn’t say anything nasty.
Quinn barely responded to anything Elaine said.
To her surprise, as she sat for a while and prepared to leave, Chase showed up.
She hadn’t seen him in days.
Lately, he hadn’t even texted her from new numbers.
She’d thought they would never cross paths again.
Yet here he was.
Chase was just as shocked to see Quinn,
He’d come to drop something off for Rosalie.
Ever since they’d slept together that night, Rosalie had been ordering him around casually.

Chase felt guilty and owed her, so even though he was reluctant, he went along with it.
The second he saw Quinn, his heart skipped.
In that moment, he knew for sure-the person he loved was still Quinn.
But he also knew there was no way they could ever be together now.
Rosalie hadn’t expected Chase to show up either.
She didn’t want him anywhere near Quinn and stood up quickly.
“Chase and I have things to do. We’re leaving.”
But Chase said, “Wait, we do? Where? I want to talk to Quinn for a minute.”
He stared at Quinn eagerly, with a look she’d never seen directed at her before.
Or rather, a look she’d only ever seen him give Rosalie.
Now he was looking at her that way.
People really could be hopelessly stubborn sometimes.
They clung to something even when they knew it was hopeless, still hoping to keep trying.
They told themselves maybe one day it would work out, that they might finally get what they wanted.
But more often than not, things didn’t go their way.
Love was no different.
Quinn had heard Lucy rant about plenty of stories like this.
Lucy loved reading novels and complaining about them.
In her opinion, some main characters were so frustrating it was unbelievable.
The male leads did unforgivable things to the girls, yet the heroines still loved them blindly.
Quinn didn’t think she was that bad, but once, she’d also dreamed that Chase might one day treat her gently.
She’d
grown up starved for affection.
Before college, Rosalie had gotten in her way so much that she had no friends and barely any love from her parents or people around her.
Growing up like that, craving love had become second nature to her.
