Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by Mr. Righ novel Chapter 372

Chapter 372 A Week Without You

They’d first met on a yacht, and back then, Quinn hardly said a word no matter the occasion.

Even after they grew closer, she’d always kept a quiet distance from him.

But things were different now.

She pouted for his attention, laughed out loud, called him by his name, and told him to do this or that for her.

She’d come alive, bright and unapologetic.

This version of Quinn made Julian love her even more deeply.

This was the Quinn that belonged only to him.

Her liveliness, her warmth-only he got to see them.

It was perfect.

“I just finished my meeting,” he said. “What did you have for dinner?”

“I went out with Lucy,” Quinn replied. “She wanted barbecue, and it was amazing. We should go together when you get back.”

“Sure,” Julian said, his gaze fixed on her, unwilling to look away. “Did you miss me?”

Truth be told, Julian had been rather relentless with her that very morning before he left.

Once he was gone, Quinn had felt utterly free.

She’d slept in until the afternoon, then gone shopping with Lucy and eaten out.

It had been wonderfully relaxed.

She couldn’t very well tell him that, though-she was afraid he’d hold it against her and get back at her when he returned.

So she said quickly, “Of course I did.”

Julian could tell right away from her tone that she wasn’t being sincere.

He knew he could be a little too much at times.

But it wasn’t entirely his fault.

He’d lived a restrained, quiet life for so many years. Once he’d tasted being with her, he’d never imagined he’d crave her this badly.

And the connection between them was so perfect, so natural, that he simply couldn’t get enough

Just seeing her was enough to make him lose his composure.

Now they were miles apart, separated by oceans, but even seeing her on screen made him want to hold her, kiss her, and be as close to her as possible.

“You really missed me? How so?”

Quinn smiled. “Lucy and I talked about you nonstop over barbecue. She told me all kinds of stories about you when you were younger, so I could get to know you better.”

“What does she even know about my past?” Julian said. “If you want to know, I’ll tell you myself when I get back. Everything-even when I was a kid.”

“Okay,” Quinn said. “Then come home soon.”

“You want me back early?”

Quinn hadn’t meant it that seriously.

Julian had told her before he left that this business trip would take about a week.

A week didn’t seem like that

long to her.

“If you have to work overtime to get back sooner, don’t bother,” she said.

“Will you come keep me company?”

Julian had actually asked her before he left to come with him.

Quinn would have had to be crazy to say yes.

He already wore her out at home-she wasn’t about to follow him abroad and let him do it all over again.

She’d finally gotten him out of the house for a few days to rest, and she wasn’t giving that up.

A client had scheduled a meeting with her, so she’d used that as an excuse to turn him down.

“Why not come over after you meet your client?” Julian asked,

“I also need to visit Adele,” Quinn said. “And I promised Lucy I’d go back to campus with her.”

“You’re busier than I am,” Julian said. “Skip Lucy. Come be with me.”

“I already told her I would,” Quinn said. “A week will go by fast. Besides, if we see each other every single day, we’ll get sick of each other.”

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder?” Julian grinned at her. “Fine. Just wait till I get back.”

Quinn shivered slightly.

She had a feeling he was talking about himself like a starved man waiting for a big meal.

“Wait, we had a deal,” she said quickly. “When you come home… you can’t go too far!”

Julian raised an eyebrow. “What counts as too far? Is it really so much for a man to be close with his girl after a week apart?”

“You have to take it easy,” Quinn sighed. “It’s not good for your health otherwise.”

“You’ll see how well I hold up,” Julian said. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure you’re more than satisfied.”

Quinn blushed bright red. “It’s getting late. You should rest. You’ll be busy tomorrow.”

“I am busy, and I am tired,” Julian said. “But talking to you relaxes me. Don’t you want me to unwind?”

Quinn rolled onto her side and held up her phone. “Of course I do. I just don’t want to distract you from work.”

“Nothing is more important than you,” Julian said. “I’m thinking of slowly handing over my overseas work. I don’t want to travel alone anymore-not unless you come with me.”

“Who’d ever believe the great Mr. Sterling is this clingy?” Quinn said.

“That’s because they don’t know how amazing you are.”

Quinn blushed again. “I’m going to bed now.”

Julian hated to end the call, but they were too far apart. Dragging it out would only make him ache more.

“Goodnight. Sleep tight.”

The first couple of days were fine. But by the third day, Quinn realized she missed Julian more than anything.
