Chapter 392 Panic Over Meeting His Mother

Quinn looked at all the dishes and realized she was actually pretty hungry.

Julian picked up a tray and led her through the line.

At one of the serving stations, the lady behind the counter smiled at him. “Mr. Sterling, your girlfriend is lovely! Congratulations to you both-hope you get married soon and have a beautiful baby!”

Julian turned to Jack right away. “Double the cafeteria staff’s bonus this month.”

After that, every station they passed showered them with cheerful wishes and blessings.

Almost no one had ever seen Julian this warm, friendly, and down-to-earth.

They soon found a table and sat down.

Many people nearby stole glances at them.

They watched as Julian kept serving Quinn food, even moving the things she didn’t like onto his own plate.

In the middle of the meal, Julian suddenly reached over and wiped a smudge of sauce from her lip.

Quinn froze and glanced around. Sure enough, plenty of eyes were fixed on them.

Her cheeks burned. “I can do that myself.”

She was already regretting coming to the cafeteria.

Who knew Julian would show off their relationship so openly, no matter where they were?

At home it was fine, but this was in public.

Julian noticed she’d stopped eating. “What’s wrong? Don’t you like the food?”

“No,” Quinn whispered. “Just ignore me for a while. Eat your own meal.”

Julian nodded.

When he finished, Quinn was still picking at her food, and she ended up leaving some on her plate.

Julian simply took it and finished it for her.

They often did this at home, so Quinn didn’t think anything of it.

But the female employees nearby watched with wide, envious eyes Their own boyfriends suddenly seemed even more unbearable. Back in the office, Julian said, “Time for a nap

There was a small lounge inside, though Julian rarely used it.

But with Quinn there, everything felt different.

Quinn shook her head. “No, I should head home.”

“Why? I thought you were going to stay with me all day.”

“I’m throwing off your work,” Quinn said. “Neither of us can get anything done.”

Mainly because Julian kept wanting to kiss her.

Julian quickly said, “Not this afternoon. I have two meetings.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

Quinn reluctantly stayed. But in the lounge, Julian teased her until she was breathless.

She whimpered, “If you do this during the day, you can’t do it again tonight…”

“Alright, alright,” Julian soothed her. “Don’t cry. No one can see us-the glass is one-way.”

Quinn was mortified.

Earlier by the window, he’d held her from behind…

She was never coming to his office again!

Julian held her contentedly until she fell asleep.

When Quinn woke up, he was gone.

She lay still for a moment, too lazy to get up.

Just then, the door opened.

“Awake?”

Julian sat on the edge of the bed, leaned over, and kissed her.

Quinn hadn’t checked the time and still felt drowsy.

Julian really could go on for forty minutes or longer every time. She had no idea where he got all his

energy.

“It’s almost four”

“Four?” Quinn jolted upright. “I slept that long?”

“I wore you out.” Julian kissed her again. “But I need to tell you something.

Quinn blinked “What?”

“My mom’s here”

Quinn sat up so fast that her forehead bumped against his chin.

“Easy” Julian said, touching her forehead gently. “Did that hurt?”

“Your mom-why is she here? Does she know I’m here?” Quinn panicked.

Julian smiled softly. “Don’t be scared. Someone told my dad I brought you to the office, so Mom found out. She wanted to come meet you.”

“I can’t- Quinn was terrified. “When did she get here? Why didn’t you wake me up?”

“She arrived around two, Julian said. “It’s fine. She’s just out there reading a magazine.”

“Two o’clock!” Quinn felt flustered and guilty. “And you let me sleep that whole time?”

“She didn’t call ahead. Why should you have to see her whenever she feels like it?” Julian said. “You didn’t want to meet her anyway. We can just tell her to leave.”

“But…” Quinn was too nervous to meet her, and she hated keeping her waiting. “It’s so rude.”

“She’s the one who showed up unannounced. I already told her that was thoughtless.”

“You still should have woken me up.” Quinn pushed him gently. “I need to wash up.”

“Do you really want to see her?” Julian held her hand/”Don’t force yourself. I can send her home right now.”

“But she’s already here, and she’s waited so long…”

“Go get ready.” Julian kissed her. “I’ll be outside waiting.”

Quinn went into the bathroom and stared at herself in the mirror.
