Chapter 425 Home-Cooked Meal Prepared

The whole family was finally reunited.

All three were in tears, and Julian’s heart ached deeply too. Most of all, he felt sorry for Quinn.

“Please stop crying,” he spoke softly. “You’re still recovering, Quinn. Such strong mood swings will do harm to your health.”

Mark was the first to calm down and patted the two women gently on the back.

Xenia still refused to let go of Quinn. Quinn had no choice but to pull her to sit beside the bed.

“You two can talk freely,” Julian said. “I’ll step outside to make a call and leave you alone. But don’t stay too long. She needs rest.”

Julian left them half an hour to chat and get to know each other briefly.

Quinn heard the whole story of what had happened all those years ago from her birth parents. Meanwhile, Mark and Xenia also learned how Quinn had lived through all these years.

Quinn did not say much about her adoptive parents. She only mentioned they had raised her and that she had an elder adoptive sister. She chose to keep their wrongdoings to herself, unwilling to make her parents sad and worried.

In fact, Mark and Xenia had already found out everything. Seeing how sensible she was, their hearts ached

even more.

When Julian came back in, tears still lingered on Xenia’s face. Twenty years of longing could never be eased in just half an hour. Yet Quinn still needed time to recover, and Xenia was in poor health as well. No matter how reluctant Mark was, he had to take Xenia away first.

Xenia kept turning her head back, unwilling to leave.

Quinn sniffled and spoke up, “Could you bring me some dinner tonight?”

Xenia nodded right away. “Yes, of course.”

“I will cook the meal myself,” Mark added hurriedly.

He then remembered they were staying in a hotel, yet he decided to use the hotel kitchen without hesitation. This was the first time their daughter had asked them for food, and he was determined to make it with his own hands.

The pair left the ward reluctantly.

Julian sat down beside the bed and held Quinn’s hand. “Are you worn out?”

Quinn shook her head. “Not really. It all feels just like a dream.”

“It is all real.” Julian kissed her lightly. “I told you, more people will come to love you.”

Her concussion plus intense emotions had worn her out completely. She chatted with Julian for a while, then closed her eyes and fell asleep quickly. She was eager to get well soon, for there were still many things waiting for her to deal with.

Mark took Xenia to check with the doctor again to make sure she was fully fine, then headed back to their hotel suite.

Xenia was in high spirits. “I feel perfectly fine now, honey. All my troubles are gone.”

“That’s right.” Mark looked at her gently. “Everything will be smooth from now on. Take good care of yourself, we still have decades ahead to stay by Quinn’s side.”

“We surely will,” Xenia replied, her eyes growing moist again.

“Let’s go buy fresh ingredients and cook dinner for her,” Mark suggested.

They got everything ready and set off for the hospital near six in the evening.

On the way, Mark received a call from his subordinate regarding Faye’s family affairs. “Sort out all the documents and send them to my mailbox,” he ordered calmly.

Since Xenia was sitting beside him in the car, he chose to keep these harsh matters hidden from her.

He had messaged Julian in advance, so Julian knew they would arrive soon.

Quinn had woken up and was in great spirits with no physical discomfort at all.

Mark walked into the ward hand in hand with Xenia. He was skilled at cooking. Even when they first dated and professional chefs were available at home, he loved preparing meals for his wife personally.

Over the years, even after dining in top-grade restaurants, Xenia still preferred home-cooked food made by him, Mark was confident his daughter would love his cooking too, for he had even made her baby food himself when she was little.

Xenia always stayed by his side to help while he cooked. Simply being together was enough to fill Mark with happiness. This time they worked together again, and had already asked Julian about all food taboos Quinn had.

Standing in front of the ward, they still felt a little nervous.
