Chapter 427 We Will Never Be Separated

Julian paused for a moment before speaking. “Quinn and I built our bond step by step over a long time. If she had to make a choice, Truly believe she would pick me. Still, I would never push her into such a tough spot.

“That sounds easy to say,” Mark replied. “But Quinn has to head back to Voss City sooner or later, at the very least to meet her grandparents.”

“You can talk it over with her,” Julian said. “If she decides to go, I will go right along with her.”

Mark frowned at him. To outsiders, Julian was a perfect eligible bachelor, yet in a father’s critical eyes, he had plenty of flaws in his view. Besides, Mark owned wealth and status equal to Julian. He could offer everything Julian gave Quinn, and even more.

“You hold obvious hostility toward me,” Julian stated plainly instead of asking.

Before Mark could respond, he went on. “You don’t think you can just show up after all these years and forbid our relationship, do you?”

Mark did have such thoughts deep down, yet he knew he had no right to do so. He had never taken part in any part of Quinn’s life for twenty years.

“I won’t say such words,” Mark admitted. “But I will remind her that marriage is a major life decision that needs careful thought. After all, you two haven’t been together for all that long.”

He firmly believed the natural blood tie between father and daughter would draw Quinn close to him soon enough.

Inside the ward, Xenia chatted softly with Quinn. She spoke with extreme caution, treating Quinn like a priceless fragile gem that might break easily.

She had endured endless agony all those years after losing her child. She might have broken down completely without Mark staying by her side. She and Mark had been deeply in love, and they had looked forward eagerly to the baby long before her birth. They talked to the unborn child every single day, and doted on her endlessly after she came into the world. Mark even put aside work just to stay home with his family.

Losing their daughter had crushed them utterly. Now that they had found her again, Xenia felt as if her own lost soul had returned to her body. To her, Quinn was more precious than any rare treasure in the world. Her heart was filled with overwhelming joy the moment Quinn called her mom.

A dozen minutes later, Mark and Julian walked back into the room. Quinn had nearly finished her meal. Mark secretly planned to dig deep into everything related to Chase later, to sort out truth from rumors

online.

Xenia was extremely reluctant to leave, and even wanted to stay overnight to keep her company. Neither Julian nor Mark would agree to that. Xenia was still in poor health and needed proper rest herself.

Quinn noticed her sadness and comforted her. “Mom, we can live together properly once I leave the hospital.”

Xenia brightened up instantly upon hearing that.

After the couple left. Julian looked a little upset. “Are you really going to move in with them after you

recover?”

“I just said that to cheer her up,” Quinn explained gently. “You can tell she’s been spoiled silly by Dad, just like a little kid.”

Julian could see it clearly. Mark’s sincere devotion kept Xenia innocent and cheerful even at her age.

“I still don’t like it.” Julian held her hand tightly. “I won’t bear being apart from you.”

Quinn smiled softly. “We will never be separated.”

“They are your birth parents after all,” Julian murmured worriedly

He was confident enough when facing Mark, yet deep inside, he could not help worrying that Quinn might choose to go live in Voss City with them.

“I’m really glad to know they never abandoned me and spent years searching for me.” Quinn kissed the back of his hand. “But I’m all grown up now. I have my own career and life, and I know exactly what choices to make.”

“What if they hope to stay with you for good?” Julian asked.

“I can go stay with them for a few days every month, like one or two days each week,” Quinn thought it over and answered.

Julian looked at her with a helpless look. “What am I supposed to do then? How can I live alone without you?”
