Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 100

“It’s not that early. Go wash up and let’s eat first.”

Catheleen dropped into her seat and sighed. “Lambert’s secretary just called. He wants me to move into a different apartment.”

Camilla paused, caught off guard. “Move out?”

“Yeah. Isn’t that weird? Apparently he’s giving me an apartment and I have to move in. At least it’s in the same complex, and it’s all furnished already. We just need to show up with our suitcases.”

Camilla nodded. “Then you should move in. But listen, Catheleen, I set up a meeting with a real estate agent this afternoon to look at some places.”

Catheleen’s eyes got wide. “Look for what places? Haven’t I told you already? You don’t need to find anywhere else. Just stay with me.”

Camilla shook her head. “No, really. Catheleen, don’t worry. Just hear me out, okay? I’m getting divorced, and I probably want to date again. Us living together might get complicated.”

She knew this was just an excuse. With the way she felt about men right now, another relationship was the last thing on her mind. Still, if she didn’t say something, there was no way Catheleen would let her move out.

Sure enough, Catheleen said, “That makes sense, but can’t you wait until you actually have a boyfriend before you move?”

“It’s okay. I’ll just find a place nearby, so we can still hang out whenever we want.”

Catheleen gave in. “Alright then. Let me call Lambert and ask him why he suddenly wants to give me an apartment.”

Her phone rang before she could dial. She glanced at the screen. “It’s Latonia.”

She answered, “Latonia?”

Latonia didn’t waste time. “Were you drunk last night? I’ve told you before, you really need to watch how much you drink. It’s not safe to get that drunk out there.”

Catheleen laughed, brushing it off. “Nothing happened. Cammie picked me up.”

“She’s up already?”

“Yeah, and she even got me breakfast.”

“Don’t pretend you don’t get it.” Latonia sounded a little frustrated. “If you won’t tell me the truth, then don’t come crying to me with your problems. I’m serious.”

“What are you talking about?” Catheleen felt tears pricking at her eyes. “Like guys or girls? If you mean dating, I like guys. Friends… I have both.”

“So your orientation is ‘normal’ then?”

Catheleen rolled her eyes. “Latonia, what kind of question is that? When was there ever a problem with who I like?”

Latonia dropped her voice. “Someone told me you aren’t straight.”

Rage shot through Catheleen. “Who said that? Who’s making up stuff about me?”

“Lambert,” Latonia replied. “He said he saw it with his own eyes.”

Catheleen stood there in shock, completely speechless.
