Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 106

“I don’t mind at all!” Catheleen grinned. “But why don’t you measure him yourself? Numbers make everything clearer for us, and they really help when we’re designing clothes.”

Camilla hesitated, reaching for any excuse that might stick. “I… I just don’t know him well enough. Just help me out, okay?”

Catheleen let out a dramatic sigh. “Alright, I’ll help you when the time comes. Or maybe I’ll just ask Lambert. His designer should have all his measurements already, and if not, I’ll ask him for them myself.”

Camilla felt relieved. “Thanks.”

They were still chatting when the doorbell rang.

“Who is it now?” Catheleen muttered as she got up and headed for the door.

At the entryway, she paused and checked the security camera. The moment she saw who it was, her face twisted in pure annoyance.

She called out over her shoulder, “Cammie! That jerk showed up!”

“Daniel?” Camilla frowned, a little surprised. “What’s he doing here?”

“How would I know?” Catheleen said, rolling her eyes. “He’s standing there with flowers, like he thinks he can just win you back with a cheap bouquet.”

“Just ignore him,” Camilla said, not even glancing up. “I have zero interest in seeing him.”

Catheleen nodded. “Want me to go out there and give him a piece of my mind?”

Camilla finally cracked a smile. “And what if he gives you one right back? You think you’d win?”

“Would he really dare hit a woman?” Catheleen put her hands on her hips. “Then again, he’s a world-class jerk, so who knows what he’d do. Honestly, I’d pass. I slap him once, he slaps me twice, and I’d totally lose.”

Camilla couldn’t help but laugh.

Catheleen came back over and flopped onto the couch next to her. “Look at you finally smiling! I swear, you’re so much cuter when you smile. Those dimples... seriously, it’s all I can do not to pinch your cheeks.”

Catheleen grabbed her arm. “Don’t! What could you possibly have to say to a guy like that?”

“But if I want this divorce, I have to convince him. Otherwise we’ll just keep spinning our wheels with endless court hearings. It’ll go on forever.” Camilla squeezed her friend’s hand. “Don’t worry. I’ll just talk to him outside for a minute.”

Catheleen bit her lip, then nodded reluctantly. “Fine. I’ll watch everything on the monitor. If he even looks at you the wrong way, I’m coming out.”

Camilla tucked a stray piece of Catheleen’s hair behind her ear and gave her a little smile. “You stay inside, okay? If anything happens, just call the police.”

“Fine, fine. Just… be careful, alright?”

Camilla opened the door.

Daniel stood there, fake smile plastered across his lips. “Camilla, I knew you were home. I’m here to apologize again. These flowers and this gift, they’re for you.”

Camilla didn’t even glance at the bouquet. Her voice was steady. “If you won’t agree to the divorce, I’ll take you to court. If I have to, I’ll do it again and again. Everything you did will come out in public. Are you sure that’s what you want?”
