“Sometimes, if a client has a special preference, I’ll play with different styles, even borrow ideas from jewelry design,” Camilla said.
Latonia leaned in, her eyes glinting with excitement. “I know a place. It’s kind of like a private jewelry museum. Want to check it out?”
Camilla straightened, interest sparking in her eyes. “Seriously? There's actually such a place? How come I’ve never heard of it?”
Latonia grinned. “It’s private, not open to the public. But if you want to go, you can just ask.”
Camilla’s curiosity kicked in even harder. “Where do I even ask? Are there requirements?”
Latonia nodded toward Camilla’s shoulder. “The owner’s right behind you. All you have to do is turn around.”
Camilla spun in her seat. She found herself face-to-face with Lambert’s deep, unreadable gaze. For a second, she wondered if he’d been watching her all along, or if she was just imagining it. Either way, in that moment, their eyes met and neither looked away.
Camilla’s heart did a little leap. Still processing the surprise, she managed, “Mr. White… you have a museum filled with jewelry?”
Lambert’s voice was calm, almost careful. “My great-grandmother loved collecting pieces. After she passed, I had everything sorted by professionals. Over time, it grew into quite a collection. There are pieces from different eras—antique and modern.”
Camilla couldn’t hide her excitement. She’d tried hard to keep her distance from Lambert, but this was too tempting. “So, is there any way I could visit?”
“Normally, there aren’t any tours,” Lambert said, his tone serious.
Immediately, Camilla’s face fell.
She had promised herself not to get tangled up with Lambert again. But between her resolve and this unbelievable chance, temptation won out. Maybe she had zero willpower. But really, how could she say no? She loved jewelry. Just being able to see these treasures would make her day. It was why jewelry design had always been her real passion. Even though she ended up in fashion, she had never let go of her first love. Her professors had always praised her, saying she had a natural flair—sometimes even more than the art students.
From the back seat, Lambert watched her. He could see the way the corner of her mouth lifted, the dimple peeking out on her cheek. She looked genuinely happy.
Lambert spoke quietly. “Just let me know when you want to come by. I’ll set everything up.”
Camilla’s answer was almost instant. “Thank you so much.”
Lambert fell silent for a few seconds, then spoke again, this time with a hint of mischief. “But I do have one condition.”
Camilla’s hands stilled. “What is it?”
