Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 14

Daniel spotted Faust and hurried over, flashing a polite smile. “Faust, good to see you.”

“You made it.” Faust nodded, his attention shifting almost immediately to Camilla. “And you are...?”

“This is my wife, Camilla,” Daniel introduced, suddenly sounding a little formal. “Camilla, this is Faust. Go on, say hello.”

Camilla didn’t have a chance to speak before a commotion erupted over by the yacht.

“Mr. White just came down!”

“Lambert!”

Lambert had arrived.

Faust paused for a second, glancing at his watch. The party wasn’t even supposed to have started yet. Why was Lambert here so early?

Honestly, to Faust, Daniel and his wife hardly mattered. He didn’t even spare them another look, heading straight for Lambert instead.

Daniel’s expression soured. “What’s wrong with you? Don’t you know how to be polite?”

Camilla responded flatly. “He walked away. Was I supposed to talk to thin air?”

“He walked away because you were too slow!” Daniel snapped, frustration creeping into his voice. “If you make a bad impression tonight, you’ll regret it, trust me.”

“So why’d you drag me here in the first place?”

“Can you not make a scene?” Daniel side-stepped, pulling her along with him. “Everyone tonight is a big deal. We can’t afford to offend anyone. Just stay sharp, alright?”

Meanwhile, Faust reached Lambert, a hint of playfulness in his voice. “Why are you down here already? Can’t wait for the party to start?”

Lambert turned, barely reacting. He just let out a low hum.

And…

Camilla’s lashes fluttered as she glanced at his chest, then looked away, her heart skipping. They were both in the same color. It could almost pass for matching outfits.

Daniel, who’d been too busy worrying to notice at first, finally saw the coincidence and smiled.

“Mr. White,” he began, voice full of gratitude, “thank you for having me. This is incredible. Let me introduce my wife, Camilla. I picked her dress myself tonight—looks like we have the same good taste, don’t we? Camilla, say hello to Mr. White.”

Camilla raised her eyes.

Lambert met her gaze.

For a moment, the whole room seemed to fade away.
