Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 158

Camilla ended the call and set her phone down.

Catheleen, who’d been listening the whole time, couldn’t help rolling her eyes. “People like that are all the same. What’s the point of apologizing after the mess is made? Seriously, if anyone said you were cheating, I wouldn’t believe them for a second.”

“That’s why we’re friends,” Camilla said, grinning.

Catheleen grinned right back. “We’re best friends!”

Camilla pulled her into a hug, both of them laughing.

Not long after dinner, Catheleen’s phone buzzed. It was a message from Lambert. The car’s here. Come downstairs.

The girls had planned their outfits, both in pale jeans, black sweaters, and white puffer jackets. Casual but cute.

Catheleen hooked her arm through Camilla’s as they walked out. She started telling jokes, making Camilla laugh so hard her eyes crinkled and her dimples stayed deep on her cheeks the whole time.

That was exactly what Lambert saw when he looked through the car window.

The two of them were gorgeous, but in different ways. In their simple outfits, they looked like college girls—youthful, bright, full of life. No wonder they thought a twenty-eight-year-old guy seemed old. Compared to them, they were practically glowing with youth.

They spotted a luxury car waiting by the curb. Lambert never drove the same car twice, but every single one screamed expensive. Neither Camilla nor Catheleen could recognize this model.

Catheleen walked up, tapped on the passenger-side window, and waited.

The glass slid down, and there was Lambert, his good looks almost unfair.

“Lambert?” Catheleen stared in surprise. “You’re actually here? Driving?”

Then she took in what he was wearing and almost did a double-take. “Wait… what is with your outfit?”

Lambert looked her way, nodded a little, and stayed silent.

Catheleen, still loitering outside the front, hesitated. “Lambert, everyone knows the passenger seat is the girlfriend’s spot. Isn’t it weird if I keep sitting there?”

“My girlfriend would sit in the back with me, obviously,” Lambert replied. “The front’s for the assistant or the bodyguard. Just get in already.”

“So even if you’re driving, your girlfriend still sits in the back?” Catheleen shot back.

Lambert sighed, rubbing his temple. “Why all the questions? Just get in the car.”

Grousing, Catheleen slid into the passenger seat. Sure, Lambert was good-looking, but he also made her nervous. Why did handsome guys have to be this intimidating?

Camilla glanced up and caught a full view of Lambert in that sweater, then just sat there, stunned for a few seconds.
